Methods for Predicting Bubble Size Distribution in Turbulent Flow

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Gas bubbles are commonly observed in both natural and human‐made water systems, and their generation and distribution play pivotal roles in water quality and aquatic habitats.

Customer flow, intermediaries, and the discovery of the equilibrium riskfree rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Macro announcements change the equilibrium riskfree rate. We find that treasury prices reflect part of the impact instantaneously, but intermediaries rely on their customer order flow in the 15 minutes after the announcement to discover the full impact ...

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.

Flow Pattern and Energy Dissipation in Stepped Spillways With Non-Uniform Step Height Using the ANSYS CFX Software [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی منابع آب, 2014
The use of stepped spillways has been increasingly on the rise due to their low cost and high efficiency. Hence, growing attention has been paid to the studies in this field by dam engineers; however, most of these studies have focused on the stepped ...

Computational Investigation of Flow over Gabion Spillways [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A spillway is a hydraulic structure that is used to pass high discharges in flood seasons in a controlled way and also to release surplus water that cannot be safely stored in the reservoir to downstream.

Androgen Receptor‐Induced Lactoferrin Accelerates Prostate Tumorigenesis Through Modulating Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that transcription factor androgen receptor (AR) directly binds the LF promoter, driving lactoferrin overexpression to promote ferritin (FTH1/FTL) upregulation and inhibit p53‐ALOX12‐mediated ferroptosis in prostate cancer. Lactoferrin could be a new potential therapeutic target in prostate cancer.

Small Extracellular Vesicles‐Derived Circ6718 Unlocks Stromal Remodeling and Serves as a Biomarker in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
sEVs‐circ6718 serves as a promising serum biomarker for gastric cancer early diagnosis and prognosis, promoting malignant transformation in gastric cancer cells and GC‑MSC differentiation into CAFs. sEVs‑circ6718 holds potential as a biomarker for the early diagnosis and prognostic assessment of gastric cancer.

The Development and Pilot Clinical Study of CD147 Targeted Antagonistic Peptide Probe for Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐AP9 as a first‐in‐human CD147‐targeted PET tracer with favorable safety and specific tumor uptake. Tracer accumulation correlates with CD147 expression in patients, enabling noninvasive quantification of CD147‐positive malignancies.

Flow resistance in mountainous streams with stepped channel

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan, 2019
The configuration of stepped channels in mountainous streams is influenced by the complex hydraulic characteristics, like the inflow, sediments and the larger slope river-bed.

Turbulence and Cavity Recirculation in Air-Water Skimming Flows on a Stepped Spillway [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Current expertise in air-water turbulent flows on stepped chutes is limited mostly to laboratory experiments at low to moderate Reynolds numbers on chutes with flat horizontal steps.
