TME/NIR Dual‐Responsive Zinc‐Based Targeted Nanoagonist for Multimodal Amplification of STING‐Mediated Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional nanoagonist (cDZ@IP) enables nano‐metabolite–driven multimodal activation of the STING pathway and enhanced immune recognition, achieving potent antitumor immunity and suppressing tumor growth and metastasis. This strategy highlights the rational design of therapeutic metabolites and establishes a new paradigm bridging nanomedicine ...

Angle effects of LIDAR measurements on a flat surface and in high-velocity spillway flows

open access: yes, 2022
Measurements in aerated high-velocity spillway flows have been traditionally conducted with point-source instruments. LIDAR is a promising remote sensing technology that may be able to provide more detailed insights into the free-surface properties.

Microglia‐Targeted Biomimetic Tetrahedral Framework Nucleic Acid Nanovesicles for Synergistic Treatment of Sepsis‐Associated Encephalopathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sepsis‐associated encephalopathy (SAE) lacks effective therapies. We developed ME@FDsi, a biomimetic nanodrug using a tetrahedral framework nucleic acid to deliver disulfiram and siTNFα. It crosses the blood‐brain barrier, targets M1 microglia, inhibits pyroptosis and inflammation, and scavenges ROS.

Reply to discussion by G. Carosi and H. Chanson on "Turbulence characteristics in skimming flows on stepped spillways" [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A main technical issue seems to be associated with the structure of the two-phase air–water flow skimming over the pseudo-bottom formed by the step edges. This is a difficult topic.

Divergent Roles of mGlu2 and mGlu3 Receptors in Amyloid‐β Production and Cognitive Dysfunctions in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the opposing effects of the mGluR2 and mGluR3 receptors on amyloid precursor protein processing. mGluR2 promotes amyloidogenic cleavage, while mGluR3 favors non‐amyloidogenic pathways. Using a brain‐penetrant nanobody as a mGluR2 positive allosteric modulator, the study uncovers how its chronic activation aggravates amyloid‐β burden

Experimental study of transition and skimming flows on stepped spillways in rcc dams: qualitative analysis and pressure measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper is a presentation of an experimental facility used for analyzing the flow over the stepped spillway of an RCC dam. The technique of digitizing video sequences is applied in order to obtain a qualitative analysis of the hydraulic behavior of ...

Bioorthogonal Fluorogenic Reporters for Noninvasive Imaging and Urinalysis of Immunotherapeutic Response in Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reported renal‐clearable bio‐orthogonal near‐infrared fluorogenic probes (BGRs) that specifically imaging and urinalysis of granzyme B for dynamic evaluation of RCC immunotherapy. BGRs not only differentiate immunotherapeutic responses in orthotopic RCC mice, but also enable sensitive optical urinalysis of granzyme B in clinical specimens ...

Domestic Institutions and the Bypass Effect of Financial Globalization [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a simple model to study the relationship between domestic institutions - financial system, corporate governance, and property rights protection - and patterns of international capital flows. It studies conditions under which financial

Hydraulics of Stepped Chutes: the Transition Flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Stepped spillway flows may behave as a succession of free-falling nappes at low flows and as a skimming flow at large discharges. However there is a range of intermediate flow rates characterised by a chaotic flow motion associated with intense splashing:

Materials‐Guided Gene‐Ionizable Lipid Nanoparticles to Reverse Iron‐Associated Immune Resistance in Renal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron overload is a common metabolic disturbance in cancer and contributes to poor outcomes in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), yet its effects on the tumour immune microenvironment remain unclear. Here we identify a previously unrecognized immunosuppressive axis in which iron overload downregulates the palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC12 in CD8+ T cells ...
