SKOS vocabulary without SKOS training. A tool for everyone.
Controlled vocabularies play a crucial part in most, if not all, activities connected to Cultural Heritage. Advances in Linked Data and Semantic Web technologies made it possible for vocabularies to be shared and reused. Today, a variety of well structured and accessible vocabularies, such as the Getty Art & Architecture Thesaurus, are available for ...

The metadata ecosystem and AI: Enabling FAIR and AI‐ready data
Abstract Reproducibility is a foundational tenet of science. As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly embedded across science, the need to accurately document the provenance, structure, and behavior of training data, models, and workflows grows correspondingly. Metadata, understood as explicit and structured knowledge about data and related

Finding Quality Issues in SKOS Vocabularies [PDF]
The Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS) is a standard model for controlled vocabularies on the Web. However, SKOS vocabularies often differ in terms of quality, which reduces their applicability across system boundaries. Here we investigate how we can support taxonomists in improving SKOS vocabularies by pointing out quality issues that go ...

Neural cell–derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are emerging as pivotal mediators in neurodegenerative diseases, exerting both pathogenic and therapeutic functions. This review synthesizes current evidence on how sEVs from distinct neural cell types regulate neurodegeneration, neuroprotection, biomarker discovery, and targeted drug delivery ...

ESCRT‐Mimetic Nanodegrader Targets STING for Anti‐Inflammatory Therapy
A nanoplatform‐enabled targeted protein degradation strategy is presented to regulate aberrant STING signaling. STING‐ATTEC induces selective autophagic degradation of STING via formation of a STING–ATTEC–LC3 ternary complex, while the cationic FA‐LNP+ system enhances LC3 generation and targeted delivery. Together, this synergistic approach efficiently

TheSoz: A SKOS representation of the thesaurus for the social sciences [PDF]
The Thesaurus for the Social Sciences (TheSoz) is a Linked Dataset in SKOS format, which serves as a crucial instrument for information retrieval based on e.g. document indexing or search term recommendation. Thesauri and similar controlled vocabularies build a linking bridge for datasets from the Linked Open Data cloud.

Poverty Attributions and Voting Choices in the 2023 Swiss National Elections
Abstract Is poverty a relevant issue for Swiss electoral politics and political behavior? In this paper we answer that question by showing that citizens’ agreement with different causal attributions of poverty matters for their voting decisions. Of highest relevance is the difference between an “individual blame” explanation (i.e., the poor are lazy ...
