SemGauss-SLAM: Dense Semantic Gaussian Splatting SLAM

open access: yes2025 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS)
We propose SemGauss-SLAM, a dense semantic SLAM system utilizing 3D Gaussian representation, that enables accurate 3D semantic mapping, robust camera tracking, and high-quality rendering simultaneously. In this system, we incorporate semantic feature embedding into 3D Gaussian representation, which effectively encodes semantic information within the ...

LiDAR-inertial-vision tightly-coupled SLAM algorithm for mining environments

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua
In underground mining environments, unstructured terrains, poor lighting conditions, and repetitive features lead to insufficient accuracy in single-sensor simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM).

ObVi-SLAM: Long-Term Object-Visual SLAM

open access: yesIEEE Robotics and Automation Letters
Robots responsible for tasks over long time scales must be able to localize consistently and scalably amid geometric, viewpoint, and appearance changes. Existing visual SLAM approaches rely on low-level feature descriptors that are not robust to such environmental changes and result in large map sizes that scale poorly over long-term deployments.

Impact of Geography on Institutions in Agricultural and Nomadic Societies

open access: yesInternational Studies of Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How geography affects the choice of institutions is studied in a theoretical model. In this model, nations are located around a circle. Rulers compete through choosing tax rates, the level of military spending, and the degree of formality of institutions. Geographic condition is captured by population density.

Focus-SLAM: A visual Monocular SLAM

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract This research presents a novel simultaneous localization and mapping algorithm, called Focus-SLAM, which simulates human navigation strategies by synthesizing a optical saliency model, SalNavNet, in a traditional single-shot SLAM paradigm.

Impact of the Unified Protocol on Attenuated Psychotic Symptoms, Cognitive Biases and Cognitive Insight in Patients at Ultra High Risk (UHR) for Psychosis: Secondary Results of a Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Hypothesis Ultra high risk (UHR) for psychosis can have different clinical trajectories but the remission rates are only 51.9% after 3 years of follow‐up. Deficits in metacognition are associated with severity of symptoms and poor response to treatment.

Slam.

open access: yes, 2007

Upsetting experiences in the lives of neurodivergent young people: A qualitative analysis of accounts of adolescents diagnosed with attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder and/or autism

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Accounts of emotional dysregulation in autism and attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are typically based on external adult observations anchored in neurotypical notions of emotional responding. These often fail to place neurodivergent people's emotional responses in the context of the upsetting experiences they face ...

Tactile hypo‐responsivity in autism: Examining potential for diagnostic relevance

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
The study reported in this paper examined the utility of a brief tactile reactivity assessment in differentiating autistic children from those with other neurodevelopmental concerns and the association between tactile responsivity, autism symptomatology, developmental level, and adaptive skills.
