Wear Induced by Stochastic Sliding Impacts [PDF]
Vibrations of the steam generator tubes in nuclear power plants induce stochastic impacts between the tubes and their supports. As a consequence, wear is generated. A test rig is designed and used to perform impacts between two metal crossed cylinders with various incidence angles and impact velocities.

Influence of the ringer's solution on wear of vacuum mixed poly(methyl methacrylate) bone cement in reciprocating sliding contact with AISI 316l stainless steel [PDF]
This paper presents microstructural properties and damage behaviour of a vacuum mixed poly(methyl metacrylate) (PMMA) bone cement, during the sliding contact with AISI 316L stainless steel, under micro-loads.

Sliding wear of a-C:H coatings against alumina in corrosive media [PDF]
This paper reports the results obtained from the study of friction and sliding wear in two corrosive solutions of an a-C:H coating deposited on 316L stainless against an alumina ball, employed as static counter part. Calculations of the values of the von

Lubricated sliding wear behaviour of aluminium alloy composites [PDF]
Interest in aluminium alloy (Al-alloy) composites as wear resistant materials continues to grow. However, the use of the popular Al-alloy-SiC composite can be limited by the abrasive nature of the SiC, leading to increased counterface wear rates.

TEM characterisation of near surface deformation resulting from lubricated sliding wear of aluminium alloy and composites [PDF]
Aluminium alloy composites have been extensively investigated for use in tribo-contact applications, however little detailed literature exists on the sub-surface microstructural evolution as a result of lubricated sliding wear.
