Stability analysis of soft–hard-interbedded anti-inclined rock slope
The instability of rock slope is still a very frequent geological disaster, which seriously affects people's life and production activities. Previous studies have mainly focused on deformation mechanism, prediction, and control of hard rock with single ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The extent and an analysis of shallow failures on the slopes of highway earthworks [PDF]
The reported incidences of shallow failures on the slopes of highway earthworks have increased in recent years. This Thesis includes a study of the extent of this problem, the likely factors contributing to failure, and presents the results of ...

Seepage-damage coupling study of the stability of water-filled dump slope
The stability of water-filled dump slope has been one significant geotechnical engineering problem that needs to be urgently resolved. The coupling effects of seepage and damage on the dump slope are critically important for stability analysis.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Earthen slope stability using dimensional analysis
Slope stability is an important aspect in the management of civil engineering projects. The stability of earth slopes is a significant concern for safety and the economy. There are several methods for finding the safety factor.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Slope Stability Analysis Methods [PDF]
The presence of discontinuities, the inherent variability of the rock mass and discontinuity properties, and the uncertainties associated with directions and fcof the in-situstress makes the rock engineering problems challenging. The numerical modeling can assist the ground control engineers in designing and evaluating the stability of the excavations.
