The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Research on Stability Evaluation of Perilous Rock on Soil Slope Based on Natural Vibration Frequency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Perilous rock instability on the soil slope brings a substantial threat to project operation and even people’s lives. The buried depth of the perilous rock is a challenge to deal with and primarily determines its stability, and the indirect rapid ...

A New Method for Slope Risk Stability Assessment: Combined Weighting and Improved Cloud Matter‐Element Model

open access: yesEngineering Reports
In order to accurately evaluate the grade of slope stability and reduce the risk of geological disasters, a comprehensive evaluation method of slope stability based on game theory and finite interval cloud matter element model is proposed. Firstly, based

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Extreme rainfall analysis for slope stability evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Slopes in tropical region are prone to frequent rainfall-induced failures; hence the evaluation of slope stability has to consider the rainfall characteristics and other factors related to rainfall infiltration.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
