Open-pit mine slopes stability analysis based on analytic hierarchy process-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model

open access: yesZhongguo dizhi zaihai yu fangzhi xuebao
The bench slope within an open-pit coal mine plays an important supporting role for coal resource production and transportation. The stability evaluation of the slope is of great significance in guiding continuous mining operations within the mine.

Evaluation of Slope Stability Based on Fuzzy Mathematics with Combination Weighting Method of Game Theory

open access: yesRenmin Zhujiang, 2021
In order to accurately evaluate the stability of the slope and reduce the risk of landslides, taking the Jiangjiatang slope project in Xingshan,Hubei as an example, this paper selects four first-level indexes namely topography and geomorphology, geological ...

Image-Data-Driven Slope Stability Analysis for Preventing Landslides Using Deep Learning

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Landslides account for approximately 5% of natural disasters resulting in significant socio-economic impacts. As a major infrastructure issue, slope stability has been traditionally analyzed with multiple deterministic and probabilistic methods to

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Application of Slope Mass Rating System In Slope Stability Class Evaluation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering and Advanced Technology, 2019
The rock slope stability analysis is a challenging task in geotechnical engineering. The metasedimentary cut slope at Putrajaya-Cyberjaya Link was assessed using Slope Mass Rating (SMR) system in this study. The results of SMR calculation obtained in this study is 23.3.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Modelling shallow landslides: the importance of hydrological controls and lateral reinforcement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Shallow landslides are important as geomorphic agents of erosion, sources of catchment sediment and potential hazards to life and infrastructure. The importance of these mass movements is difficult to define using solely field- based approaches because ...
