Fluorescent Nanodiamonds Based Theranostic Platform for pH‐Sensitive Drug Delivery and Quantum Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional nanodiamond platform enables pH‐triggered Diazoxide (DZX) delivery and quantum sensing of subcellular radical dynamics in triple‐negative breast cancer cells. Diamond relaxometry revealed reduced lysosomal radicals during DZX‐induced mitochondrial radical elevation, providing insights into redox modulation and organelle‐ resolved ...

Rapid Sintering of Porous Organic Polymer Powders Into Mechanically Strong Monoliths for Efficient CO2 Capture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spark plasma sintering enables rapid processing of porous organic polymer (POP) from fine powders to a freestanding and mechanically robust monolith. The sintering process retains the CO2 adsorption capacity and CO2/N2 selectivity, making the monolith more suitable as a solid sorbent for practical carbon capture applications.

Can immersive olfactory training serve as an alternative treatment for patients with smell dysfunction?

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology
Objectives Olfactory training (OT) has emerged as a first‐line therapeutic approach to the management of olfactory dysfunction. Conventional OT (COT) involves the systematic home‐based exposure to four distinct odors.

The Forgotten -ism

open access: yes, 2013
“I’d rather not. I don’t like to talk to old people. They make me uncomfortable. They kind of smell weird and make me think about death. Some of them are even racist, so I’d just rather not.” As part of my internship this summer, in which I helped to ...

Photoluminescent UV Light Modulation via Anisometric Carbon Nanodots for UV–Visible Shutter and UV Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anisometric carbon nanodots are synthesized directly from a liquid crystal precursor and embedded into polymer network liquid crystals to create soft, multifunctional photonic films. These hybrid devices exhibit polarized photoluminescence, broad UV absorption, and fast, electrically tunable light modulation.
