Closed structure soft robotic gripper
2018 IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics (RoboSoft), 2018This work describes a new kind of soft gripper. Inspiration on nature is usual in Soft Robotics device creation. In this case, the inspiration came from a sea lamprey in order to create a closed structure soft robotic gripper. Usually the grippers have one or more soft actuators that act like fingers.

Shape Memory Alloy Based Soft Gripper
ASME 2023 32nd Conference on Information Storage and Processing Systems, 2023Abstract This paper presents the design and implementation of a novel soft gripper using Arc-shaped Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) actuators. The manipulator is designed to have compliance, making it suitable for grasping various objects including irregularly shaped or soft objects.

Magnetically Guided Soft Robotic Grippers
2019 2nd IEEE International Conference on Soft Robotics (RoboSoft), 2019Soft robotic grippers based on magnetorheological elastomers are proposed. Rigid nonmagnetic skeleton of the gripper is encased by an elastomer with magnetic properties that exhibits soft-touch properties and reacts to external magnetic field. The basic concept of the grippers, their operation and first prototypes are presented together with the ...

Soft sensored grippers in assembly process
Proceedings 1992 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2003The authors discuss the problem of assembly task realization using soft sensored fingers. Because the object grasped with soft fingers can move with respect to the gripper if an external force is applied, a change in the pressure corresponds to a change in the object position.
