Solvent Co‐Intercalation Enabled Ca Storage in MoS2 for Ca‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Regulating electrolyte solvation levels enables otherwise non‐intercalatable Ca2+ ions to reversibly co‐intercalate into molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as ether‐solvated species. The intercalation reversibility is strongly governed by solvent chain length, as demonstrated using diethylene glycol dimethyl ether (G2) and tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether (

Exploring Pb‐Chelation Chemistry in the Crystallization Dynamics of Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanism of how Pb‐chelation chemistry governs coordination geometry and initial nucleation behavior at the precursor level of halide perovskite, by regulating the deprotonation state of a chelating additive, is elucidated. This allows for innovative reaction‐system design principles that promote coherent growth while suppressing defect formation in

Numerical Simulations of Magnetoacoustic–Gravity Waves in the Solar Atmosphere

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the excitation of magnetoacoustic–gravity waves generated from localized pulses in the gas pressure as well as in the vertical component of velocity.

Determining solar effects in Neptune’s atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
AbstractLong-duration observations of Neptune’s brightness at two visible wavelengths provide a disk-averaged estimate of its atmospheric aerosol. Brightness variations were previously associated with the 11-year solar cycle, through solar-modulated mechanisms linked with either ultraviolet or galactic cosmic ray (GCR) effects on atmospheric particles.

Chlorination‐Enabled Oxygen Control and Dual‐Sulfur Source Aided Trap Passivation to Unlock 8.24% Efficient Sb2S3 Photovoltaic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a scalable, low‐temperature synthesis strategy that combines a thioacetamide (TA)‐based dual sulfur source with CdS chlorination, enabling the formation of high‐quality Sb2S3 with a reduced open‐circuit voltage loss, resulting in improved device efficiency.

Solar wind dependence of ion parameters in the earth's magnetospheric region calculated from CLUSTER observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Moments calculated from the ion distributions (~0–40 keV) measured by the Cluster Ion Spectrometry (CIS) instrument are combined with data from the Cluster Flux Gate Magnetometer (FGM) instrument and used to characterise the bulk properties of the plasma

Revisiting the Solar Wind Deceleration Upstream of the Martian Bow Shock Based on MAVEN Observations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The solar wind deceleration upstream of the Martian bow shock is examined using particle and magnetic field measurements obtained by the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN).

Visual Observations of the Solar Atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1926
The spectrohelioscope, an instrument for observing the sun in monochromatic light, has been briefly described in a previous article. (1) The same optical parts employed in the preliminary work are now rigidly mounted in a vertical position in my new Solar Laboratory in Pasadena (a branch of the Mount Wilson Observatory).

H2 emission in the solar atmosphere [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 1979
New identifications of emission lines of molecular hydrogen in the EUV spectrum of sunspots are reported. The spectra were obtained during the first and second flights of the Naval Research Laboratory's High Resolution Telescope and Spectrograph (HRTS).

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...
