Effects of Various Bipolar Approximations of Active Regions on Solar Surface Magnetic Field Simulations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The evolution of solar surface magnetic fields is essential for understanding solar activity and the underlying dynamic process. The surface flux transport (SFT) model is a widely used and effective tool for simulating this evolution.

Chiral‐Encoded Pt‐Ir Surfaces as Apparent Spin Filter for Enhanced Oxygen Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Chiral‐Induced Spin Selectivity (CISS) effect is employed in chiral‐encoded mesoporous Platinum‐Iridium (Pt‐Ir) electrocatalysts to enhance the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). A break in spin symmetry leads to a substantial antagonistic difference in activity (>200%) when comparing two enantiomorphs of the same electrode.

Simultaneous Wastewater‐to‐Hydrogen Upgrading via Mechanically Driven Piezocatalysis Over Ag‐ZnO Nanorods

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A piezocatalytic strategy enables simultaneous wastewater purification and hydrogen generation by harnessing mechanical energy. Complementary piezo‐induced charges are selectively directed toward oxidation and reduction pathways, achieving efficient pollutant degradation and continuous H2 evolution.

The detection of numerous magnetic separators in a three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic model of solar emerging flux

open access: yes, 2010
Magnetic separators in three-dimensional (3D) magnetic fields are believed to be often associated with locations of magnetic reconnection. In this preliminary study, we investigate this relationship using data from a numerical resistive 3D MHD experiment

Spatially Separated Redox Centers in One‐Dimensional Sp2‐Carbon Covalent Organic Frameworks Enable Synergistic Photocatalytic Palladium Recovery and Bisphenol A Mineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A one‐dimensional sp2‐carbon covalent organic framework with spatially segregated redox centers integrates a dual photosensitizing system and a cationic interface for synergistic photocatalysis. The material achieves exceptional palladium recovery (1749 mg g−1) and bisphenol A mineralization (0.1710 min−1) without sacrificial agents, demonstrating ...

The Long-term Evolution of the Solar Transition Region

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Long-term evolution characteristics of the solar transition region have been unclear. In this study, daily images of the solar full disk derived from the observations by the Solar Dynamics Observatory/Atmospheric Imaging Assembly at 304 Å wavelength from

Lunar‐Based Photothermal CO2 Reduction Strategy: Self‐Evolving Transient Active Interface and Band Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐evolving Pd/Ov‐FeTiO3 photothermal catalyst, inspired by lunar soil, enables efficient extraterrestrial CO2 conversion. The formation of transient active interfaces and oxygen vacancies extends light absorption to the infrared range and optimizes electron transfer.

Saturation of the Large-scale Magnetic Field for Fast Rotating Solar-like Stars Driven by Inefficient Turbulent Angular Momentum Transport

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Magnetic activity in solar-like stars shows a systematic dependence on stellar rotation rate, known as the “activity–rotation relationship.” Recent observations further reveal that large-scale surface magnetic fields in solar-like stars are ...

Self‐Assembly Ordered Layered Gels for Thermochromic Smart Windows With Excellent Electromagnetic Shielding Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metal‐ion‐coupled self‐assembled layered gels were prepared using a simple sol–gel method, successfully integrating electromagnetic shielding and thermochromic functions into the material. SCa‐1, which exhibits the best overall performance, achieves an electromagnetic shielding efficiency of up to 72.49 dB, while maintaining a visible light ...
