Abstract The dissolution profiles of oxazepam from solid dispersion systems with PEG 6000 and Gelita Collagel have been investigated. The best results were obtained with spray-dried oxazepam-Collagel. X-ray diffractometry was applied to explain the changes in dissolution characteristics of oxazepam in the studied samples.

Properties of solid dispersions of piroxicam in polyvinylpyrrolidone
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 1999Solid dispersions of piroxicam were prepared with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) K-17 PF and PVP K-90 by solvent method. The physical state and drug:PVP interaction of solid dispersions and physical mixtures were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

Spray drying is a cost-effective process for granulating non-oxide ceramic powders. Granulation is necessary to achieve good powder flow properties. For a dry pressing operation, good flow properties are essential to obtain uniform die filling and high green bulk densities.

Dispersions of solids in liquids
2019Adsorbed surfactants and polymers are able to modify the interactions between particles and hence the stability of a dispersion. A brief description of stabilization of dispersions by electrical interactions is given, including how addition of electrolyte can lead to both flocculation and coagulation of dispersions.

Solid dispersions have attracted considerable interest as an efficient means of improving the dissolution rate and hence the bioavailability of a range of hydrophobic drugs. This article reviews the various preparation techniques for solid dispersion and compiles some of the recent technology transfers. The different types of solid dispersions based on

Dispersion of solids in liquids
1994For numerous methods of granulometry, e.g. for sedimentation and wet sieve analysis, a suspension with a defined and constant dispersion state is an essential precondition. In many cases it is very difficult or not possible to fulfil this precondition in a simple way, since the information available on the complex physico-chemical conditions and their ...
