Copper Pipes as Medium Frequency Transformer Windings
Owing to increasing power demand, new technologies, such as solid-state transformers, are progressively researched and improved. Thereby, galvanic isolation and voltage adaptation are achieved by medium frequency transformers. To reach high power density

Power quality disturbances assessment during unintentional islanding scenarios. A contribution to voltage sag studies [PDF]
This paper presents a novel voltage sag topology that occurs during an unintentional islanding operation (IO) within a distribution network (DN) due to large induction motors (IMs).

Design of Solid State Transformer
Transformers are designed so as to minimize weight and cost based on three presumptions: the power supply is with a sine wave, the frequency is fixed, and the voltage not to exceed a prescribed maximum limit. Fastidious approach in designing the transformer based on these assumptions is not entailed, then again proper consideration is required if the ...

This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

The solid-state transformers with input-series output-parallel structure are considered for various applications where MVAC to LVDC conversion is needed. However, due to the inherent second harmonic pulsating power in the single-phase AC system, large DC

Real‐time assay of ribonucleotide reductase activity with a fluorescent RNA aptamer
Ribonucleotide reductases (RNR) synthesize DNA building blocks de novo, making them crucial in DNA replication and drug targeting. FLARE introduces the first single‐tube real‐time coupled RNR assay, which enables isothermal tracking of RNR activity at nanomolar enzyme levels and allows the reconstruction of allosteric regulatory patterns and rapid ...

Adjustment of model parameters to estimate distribution transformers remaining lifespan [PDF]
Currently, the electrical system in Argentina is working at its maximum capacity, decreasing the margin between the installed power and demanded consumption, and drastically reducing the service life of transformer substations due to overload (since the ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
