Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Enhancing methyldopa solubility via green supercritical fluid techniques using ethanol co-solvent

open access: yesScientific Reports
The aim of this study is to investigate the solubility of methyldopa in supercritical carbon dioxide. Solubility was examined at temperatures of 338, 328, 318, and 308 K, in both the presence and absence of a co-solvent.

Comparative evaluation of ternary amorphous solid dispersions: Identifying optimal excipient systems for enhancing drug solubility

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pharmaceutics: X
The limited aqueous solubility of numerous active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) remains a major barrier to achieving optimal oral bioavailability, therapeutic efficacy, and clinical translation.

Ligand enhanced upconversion of near-infrared photons with nanocrystal light absorbers. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We designed and synthesized a tetracene derivative 4-(tetracen-5-yl)benzoic acid (CPT) as a transmitter ligand used in PbS/PbSe nanocrystal (NC) sensitized upconversion of near infrared (NIR) photons.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Mechanically driven alloying and grain size changes in nanocrystalline Fe-Cu powders [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Highly supersaturated nanocrystalline FexCu100-x alloys (10 less-than-or-equal-to x less-than-or-equal-to 95) have been prepared by mechanical alloying of elemental crystalline powders.

Effect of 1 wt% LiF additive on the densification of nanocrystalline Y2O3 ceramics by spark plasma sintering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Densification of nanocrystalline cubic yttria (nc-Y2O3) powder, with 18 nm crystal size and 1 wt% LiF as a sintering additive was investigated. Specimens were fabricated by spark plasma sintering at 100 MPa, within the temperature range of 700–1500 °C ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Kinetics of CO2 with primary and secondary amines in aqueous solutions - I. Zwitterion deprotonation kinetics for DEA and DIPA in aqueous blends of alkanolamines [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The deprotonation kinetics of the DEA—CO2 and the DIPA—CO2 zwitterions have been studied in aqueous blends of amines at 298 K. Amine mixtures investigated were: DEA—TEA, DEA—MDEA, DEA—DMMEA, DEA—DEMEA, DIPA—TEA. DIPA—MDEA, DIPA—DMMEA, DIPA—DEMEA.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
