QTLs detected for individual sugars and soluble solids content in apple
Molecular Breeding, 2015Sweetness is one of the most important fruit quality traits in breeding programs, determining the overall quality and flavor perception of apples. Selecting for this trait using conventional breeding methods is challenging due to the complexity of its genetic control.

Total soluble solids content in relation to cytoplasmic diversity in sorghum
The Journal of Agricultural Science, 1990SUMMARYA study of 76 F1 hybrids involving four sources of cytoplasmic male sterility and 19 male-fertility restorers indicated great diversity among the cytoplasms for total soluble solids. The exploitation of cytoplasms other than milo is recommended for breeding programmes aimed at high total soluble solids content.

Measurement of soluble solid content in apple using near infrared spectroscopy
2011 International Conference on New Technology of Agricultural, 2011Near infrared transmittance spectroscopy ranging from 643.26nm to 928.35nm was investigated for its feasibility to determine the soluble solid content of apple nondestructively. The characteristic wavelength bands of SSC were searched by interval partial least square (iPLS) regression, The detection of near-infrared spectroscopy models of SSC were ...

[Effectively predicting soluble solids content in apple based on hyperspectral imaging].
Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2015It is very important to extract effective wavelengths for quantitative analysis of fruit internal quality based on hyperspectral imaging. In the present study, genetic algorithm (GA), successive projections algorithm (SPA) and GA-SPA combining algorithm were used for extracting effective wavelengths from 400-1 000 nm hyperspectral images of Yantai ...

Electroanalysis of soluble solid content in orange juice at intermediate frequency
Journal of Food Measurement and Characterization, 2019A measurement method was applied to evaluate electrical response of orange juice at intermediate frequency by two alternating magnetic fluxes. Measurement of output voltages and λ-values (ratio of excitation voltage to output voltage) at different potential points in juice coils under varying excitation voltage, frequency, and temperature were ...
