Paracrine IL-33 stimulation enhances lipopolysaccharide-mediated macrophage activation.
BackgroundIL-33, a member of the IL-1 family of cytokines, provokes Th2-type inflammation accompanied by accumulation of eosinophils through IL-33R, which consists of ST2 and IL-1RAcP. We previously demonstrated that macrophages produce IL-33 in response

Secretome and Pathway Analysis of Stress Induced Disc Degeneration In Vitro
Integrated secretome and phosphoprotein profiling of human nucleus pulposus cells revealed that IL‐1β and TLR2/6 activation induce a shared degenerative program, defined by consistent upregulation of IL‐6, IL‐8, GRO‐α, ICAM‐1, and MMP‐7 and convergence on NF‐κB/AP‐1 signaling.

Soluble ST2 – biomarker for prognosis and monitoring in decompensated heart failure
The review aims to appraise the value of determining the concentrations of the new biomarker sST2 for assessing prognosis and monitoring treatment effectiveness of patients with decompensated heart failure during an episode of decompensation and during long-term follow-up after discharge from the hospital.

Serum levels of Interleukin-33 and its soluble receptor ST2 in asthmatic patients
Interleukin-33 is a member of IL-1 family of cytokines and binds to two receptors: ST2 (IL-1-R1) and IL-1 receptor accessory protein (IL-1RAP). There are two isoforms of ST2 proteins: ST2L, a transmembrane form, and a soluble ST2 (sST2), a secreted form,

The soluble receptor ST2 is positively associated with occupational exposure to radiation
Purpose Radiation exposure, besides the risk of cancer, may also increase the risk of non-cancer diseases, including cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study investigates whether the soluble form of the ST2 receptor (sST2), an emerging prognostic marker in patients with CVD, can be used to monitor the CVD risk in individuals occupationally exposed to ...
