Response of proline, soluble sugars and antioxidant enzymes in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) to different irrigation regimes in greenhouse condition

open access: yes, 2011
To evaluate the response of proline and soluble sugars content, catalase (CAT) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) activity in wheat leaves to different irrigation regimes at two growth stages, a greenhouse factorial experiment was conducted in a ...

LRG1 Drives Pathological Angiogenesis by Disrupting Neutrophil Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Bladder Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In bladder cancer, LRG1 binds to ANXA2 to trigger mitochondrial ROS‐dependent NETosis. This pathogenic cascade actively uncouples endothelial‐mural cell interactions, driving profound vascular destabilization. Consequently, targeting the LRG1‐ANXA2 axis attenuates the neutrophil burden and induces structural vascular normalization, offering a powerful ...

In vitro rumen fermentation characteristics of some naturally occurring and synthetic sugars

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2013
Soluble sugars are thought to play an important role in the fermentation processes of the rumen but their actual fermentation rate has not been fully assessed.

Revolutionising Agricultural Sustainability: New ‘Furrow Tillage’ can Mitigate Short‐Term Soil‐to‐Atmosphere CO2 Flux and Promote Soil‐Plant‐Microbe Health

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Furrow tillage resolves the conventional‐vs.‐no‐tillage trade‐off by simultaneously cutting CO2 efflux to 2.0–3.0 g C m−2 d−1 and unlocking high nutrient availability for the rice rhizosphere. This scalable agronomic solution strengthens soil health, enhances plant physiology, reshapes microbial metabolism, and shifts paddy systems toward a net ...

Thermodynamics of Isomers and Solubility Prediction in Multicomponent Sugar Solutions

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry B
A rigorous thermodynamic modeling framework for a system of isomers in chemical equilibrium is developed and applied to the lactose-water system. Through the knowledge of the water activity and of the liquid phase composition, thermodynamically consistent expressions for the activity coefficients of lactose isomers have been derived and used in the ...

Pyrazole‐Derived Antibacterial Compounds Effectively Treat Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Infections by Inhibiting Aspartate Transcarbamoylase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study unveils a novel antibacterial mechanism against MRSA, in which the compound Py‐27 selectively targets and inhibits aspartate transcarbamoylase (ATCase), a key enzyme in pyrimidine synthesis. This inhibition disrupts DNA replication, induces oxidative damage, leading to potent bactericidal activity.

Probing Electrocatalyst Design for Product Selectivity in CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Selective CO2 electroreduction is controlled by catalyst structure, dynamic surface reconstruction, adsorbate interactions, and reaction microenvironment. This review summarizes Cu‐ and non‐Cu‐based catalysts, single‐atom and molecular systems, degradation pathways, and operando/computational strategies for steering CO2RR toward hydrocarbons ...

O‐GlcNAcylation Regulation of SNAP29‐Dependent Autophagy Activation Dictates Chemoresistance in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Model illustrating the proposed mechanism by which chemotherapy‐induced downregulation of OGT disrupts SNAP29 O‐GlcNAcylation, promoting STX17‐SNAP29‐VAMP8 SNARE complex assembly and protective autophagy, leading to chemoresistance, which in turn establishes a feedforward loop to perpetuate drug tolerance.

The Regulation of Soluble Sugars in the Growth and Development of Plants

open access: yesBotanical Research, 2014
Soluble sugars, such as glucose and sucrose, play an important role in the cycle of plant life.
