Induction of Somatic Hypermutation Is Associated with Modifications in Immunoglobulin Variable Region Chromatin [PDF]

Somatic hypermutation (SHM) requires selective targeting of the mutational machinery to the variable region of the immunoglobulin heavy chain gene.
