Probiotics and spirulina are used to improve health, growth, and immunity of fish. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of water additive probiotics and dietary Spirulina platensis on growth (weight gain (WG) and specific growth rate (SGR)), hematobiochemical parameters (hemoglobin (Hb) and blood glucose (Glu)), intestinal histology ...

Insulin‐Like Growth Factors, Binding Proteins and Their Role in Pregnancy in Patients With Diabetes
The insulin‐like growth factor (IGF) axis, an evolutionarily conserved system, is critical in regulating cell growth, proliferation, and survival, affecting nearly all organ systems. This axis comprises two growth factors, IGF‐I and IGF‐II, and six insulin‐like growth factor–binding proteins (IGFBPs), modulating IGF activity.

Transfer of insulin-like growth factors I and II from plasma to lymph in young goats [PDF]
The plasma clearance of intravenously injected '25I-labelled insulin-like growth factor I (IGFI, n = 13) and IGF-II (n = 12) and their transfer into lymph draining the foreleg of 3 5- to 8- week-old British Saanen goats was studied.

Chondroitin sulfate in invertebrate development
Abstract Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is one of the most evolutionarily conserved glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). Although CS's function in skeletal development is well established in vertebrates, CS exists in more primitive animal species with no cartilage or bone, such as C.

Proteomic exploration of potential blood biomarkers in haemophilic arthropathy
Abstract Background and Aims The pathophysiology of haemophilic arthropathy (HA) is complex and largely undefined. Proteomic analyses provide insights into the intricate mechanisms of the HA. Our study aimed to identify differentially expressed proteins in relation to the severity of HA, explore their pathophysiological roles, and evaluate their ...
