Objective To further evaluate a genomic classifier (GC) in a cohort of patients undergoing radical cystectomy (RC), as long non‐coding RNA (lncRNA)‐based genomic profiling has suggested utility in identifying a distinct tumour subgroup corresponding to a favourable prognosis in patients with bladder cancer.

Resource level‐based recommendations on practical diagnostic strategies for medulloblastomas and other CNS embryonal tumors are provided. Abstract WHO CNS5 mandates integrated histo‐molecular classification of medulloblastomas (MBs) and other CNS embryonal tumors. However, advanced molecular diagnostics remain inaccessible in many low‐ and lower‐middle‐

A practical formalin‐fixed, paraffin‐embedded (FFPE)‐based molecular workflow integrating pathology, immunohistochemistry, and genomic profiling provides clinically meaningful subgroup classification of pediatric medulloblastoma and expands molecular evidence from an underrepresented Central Asian population. Abstract Medulloblastoma is the most common

This study aimed to determine whether personalized selection of effective drugs for SMARCB1/INI1‐deficient tumors is feasible using in vitro drug sensitivity profiling. Drug sensitivity was assessed using a short‐term collagen gel–embedded three‐dimensional drug sensitivity test (3D‐DST) in tumors derived from SMARCB1/INI1‐deficient tumor cell line ...

The structural and functional integrity of peripheral nerves depends on the glial-derived signal desert hedgehog [PDF]
We show that desert hedgehog ( dhh), a signaling molecule expressed by Schwann cells, is essential for the structural and functional integrity of the peripheral nerve.

The recklessness of Sonic the Hedgehog [PDF]
Sonic the Hedgehog is naturally very athletic and enjoys running at top speeds. His complete disregard for his well‑being could lead to many health problems once he is past his teenage years.

LSD1 co-repressor Rcor2 orchestrates neurogenesis in the developing mouse brain
Epigenetic regulation plays a key role in cortical development. Here the authors show that Rcor2, a co-repressor of the histone demethylase LSD1/KDM1A complex, regulates neural progenitor cell proliferation and cortical neurogenesis by repressing sonic ...

The sorting nexin Snx21 promotes flotillin‐mediated endocytosis
In this study, we describe a novel function of the previously uncharacterized Snx21 protein as a specific positive regulator of flotillin‐mediated endocytic trafficking. Snx21 is recruited to endosomal membranes via binding to PI(3)P, and it colocalizes with flotillins on the surface of late endosomes.

Genome-wide analysis of gene expression and alternative splicing in human medulloblastoma [PDF]
Medulloblastoma is a malignant embryonal tumour of the cerebellum which most commonly affects children. A subset of tumours is thought to arise from cerebellar granule cell precursors (GCPs) that fail to undergo normal neuronal development, following ...
