Ecological influence of exotic plants of Sonneratia apetala on understory macrofauna

Acta Oceanologica Sinica, 2012
The study aims to compare the differences of macrofauna communities of wetlands at 3-year-forestage, 5-year-forest-age Sonneratia apetala artificial mangroves, 5-year-forest-age Kandelia candel artificial mangroves with the same restoration background, and the naked tidal flat in the Qi’ao Island Mangrove Nature Reserve of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province ...

Evaluation of antioxidant, antidiabetic and antibacterial activities of the fruit of Sonneratia apetala (Buch.-Ham.)

Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine, 2012
The mangrove fruit Sonneratia apetala Buch.-Ham. is extensively consumed by the people of coastal Bangladesh especially adjacent to the Sundarbans’ forest. Seeds consist of very high content of polyphenols (300 ± 8.2 mg GAE/g extract), flavonoids (30.6 ± 0.7 CE/g extract), anthocyanins (2.3 ± 0.03 μmol/g extract) and vitamin C (4.0 ± 0.08 mg/g extract).

Influence of introduced Sonneratia apetala on nutrients and heavy metals in intertidal sediments, South China

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2016
To investigate the influence of Sonneratia apetala on nutrients and heavy metals in intertidal sediments, sediment cores of S. apetala marsh and mudflat in Shenzhen Bay, China were analyzed. The results showed that S. apetala improved sediment nutrient properties due to increased total carbon (TC), total nitrogen (TN), and total sulfur (TS). The levels

Allorhizobium sonneratiae sp. nov., an endophytic bacterium isolated from the root of Sonneratia apetala

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2023
A novel endophytic bacterium, designated strain BGMRC 0089T, was isolated from a surface-sterilized root of Sonneratia apetala. Cells were observed to be Gram-negative, rod-shaped and motile with polar flagella. Strain BGMRC 0089T was found to grow optimally at 28–30 °C, pH 7.0–8.0 and in the presence of 1 % (w/v) NaCl.

Jiella sonneratiae sp. nov., a novel endophytic bacterium isolated from bark of Sonneratia apetala

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2022
A new endophytic bacterium, designated strain MQZ13P-4T was isolated from Sonneratia apetala collected from Maowei sea Mangrove Nature Reserve in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, PR China. The 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity between strain MQZ13P-4T and its closest phylogenetic neighbour Jiella ...

Allometric growth and carbon storage in the mangrove Sonneratia apetala

Wetlands Ecology and Management, 2021
Allometric growth reflects different allocation patterns and relationships of different components or traits of a plant and is closely related to ecosystem carbon storage. As an introduced species, the growth and carbon storage of Sonneratia apetala are still unclear. To derive allometric relationships of the mangrove S.

Micromonospora sonneratiae sp. nov., isolated from a root of Sonneratia apetala

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2013
A novel endophytic actinomycete, strain 274745T, was isolated from a root of Sonneratia apetala collected in a mangrove forest in Sanya, Hainan province, China. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain 274745T showed the greatest similarity to Micromonospora pattaloongensis

Phycicoccus sonneraticus sp. nov., a Novel Endophytic Actinobacterium Isolated from the Bark of Sonneratia apetala

Current Microbiology, 2023
A novel endophytic actinobacterial strain, designated MQZ13P-5T, was isolated from a piece of bark of Sonneratia apetala, collected from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This strain was Gram-stain positive, aerobic, non-spore-forming, non-motile and rod-shaped. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain MQZ13P-5T was related

Phycicoccus mangrovi sp. nov., a novel endophytic actinobacterium isolated from bark of Sonneratia apetala

Systematic and Applied Microbiology, 2021
Two novel strains KQZ13P-1T and MAQZ13P-2 were isolated from bark of Sonneratia apetala collected from Maowei sea Mangrove Nature Reserve in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Two strains were Gram-positive, aerobic, non-spore-forming, no diffusion pigment actinobacterial strains and investigated by a polyphasic approach to determine their ...
