Ecological influence of exotic plants of Sonneratia apetala on understory macrofauna
Acta Oceanologica Sinica, 2012The study aims to compare the differences of macrofauna communities of wetlands at 3-year-forestage, 5-year-forest-age Sonneratia apetala artificial mangroves, 5-year-forest-age Kandelia candel artificial mangroves with the same restoration background, and the naked tidal flat in the Qi’ao Island Mangrove Nature Reserve of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province ...

Chemical profile and biological activities of Sonneratia apetala (Buch.-Ham.)
Advances in Traditional Medicine, 2019This review aims at summarizing the chemical profile and biological activities of the mangrove plant Sonneratia apetala on the basis of published evidence in various databases. For this, an up-to-date (till Aug 2019) a search has been made in the PubMed, Science Direct and Google Scholar with relevant keywords.

Micromonospora sonneratiae sp. nov., isolated from a root of Sonneratia apetala
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2013A novel endophytic actinomycete, strain 274745T, was isolated from a root of Sonneratia apetala collected in a mangrove forest in Sanya, Hainan province, China. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain 274745T showed the greatest similarity to Micromonospora pattaloongensis

To investigate the influence of Sonneratia apetala on nutrients and heavy metals in intertidal sediments, sediment cores of S. apetala marsh and mudflat in Shenzhen Bay, China were analyzed. The results showed that S. apetala improved sediment nutrient properties due to increased total carbon (TC), total nitrogen (TN), and total sulfur (TS). The levels

A novel endophytic actinobacterial strain, designated MQZ13P-5T, was isolated from a piece of bark of Sonneratia apetala, collected from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This strain was Gram-stain positive, aerobic, non-spore-forming, non-motile and rod-shaped. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain MQZ13P-5T was related

Two novel strains KQZ13P-1T and MAQZ13P-2 were isolated from bark of Sonneratia apetala collected from Maowei sea Mangrove Nature Reserve in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. Two strains were Gram-positive, aerobic, non-spore-forming, no diffusion pigment actinobacterial strains and investigated by a polyphasic approach to determine their ...

The mangrove fruit Sonneratia apetala Buch.-Ham. is extensively consumed by the people of coastal Bangladesh especially adjacent to the Sundarbans’ forest. Seeds consist of very high content of polyphenols (300 ± 8.2 mg GAE/g extract), flavonoids (30.6 ± 0.7 CE/g extract), anthocyanins (2.3 ± 0.03 μmol/g extract) and vitamin C (4.0 ± 0.08 mg/g extract).

By the end of 1990s when China initiated a 10-year mangrove reforestation project, the mangrove forest area had decreased from 250,000 to 15,000 ha. Over 80% of current Chinese mangroves are degraded secondary forests or plantations. As an initial restoration and reforestation effort, Sonneratia apetala, a native of India, Bengal and Sri Lanka, was ...
