Effect of Drought Stress at Reproductive Stages on Growth and Nitrogen Metabolism in Soybean

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
This study aims to determine variability among soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivars under drought conditions and how nitrogen metabolites, metabolism-related enzymes, and gene expression vary during soybean growth.

Novel Antifungal Scaffold Targeting Tubulin Overcomes Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Addressing pesticide resistance, novel chromone‐acylhydrazone hybrids targeting fungal tubulin are synthesized. Compound G24 potently inhibited S. sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.21µg mL−1) and demonstrated enhanced field performance via microencapsulation, offering a sustainable strategy against resistance and for global food security.

Comparative Transcriptome-Based Analysis of the Regulation of Leaf Senescence in the Upper and Middle Canopy of Different Soybean Cultivars

open access: yesAgronomy
Premature leaf failure is one of the major factors contributing to crop yield reduction. High-yielding soybean cultivars exhibit a longer leaf lifespan during the reproductive period, promoting higher yields. In this experiment, physiological indexes and

Soybean Auxin Transporter PIN3 Regulates Nitrate Acquisition to Improve Nitrogen Use and Seed Traits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Xu et al. discovers that switching off auxin transporters in soybean, PIN3a and PIN3b, disrupts auxin flow; this triggers ARF‐STF3/4 signal cascade to activate the nitrate importer NPF2.13 and soil nitrogen acquisition. Multi‐year field trials show edited soybeans maintain yield with higher oil content, offering a potential genetic route to improve ...

Physiological and biochemical responses of soybean (Glycine max L.) to cysteine application under sea salt stress

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre, 2019
Shortage of water is a major problem facing Egypt; thus, it becomes necessary to use non-traditional sources of water such as saline water in irrigation.

Coupling Nitrogenous Organic Wastewater Treatment and Biorefinery via N‐Cycling Bacterium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The vast reservoir of nitrogenous organic pollutants in industrial wastewaters can serve as untapped carbon‐nitrogen resources. This study employs the newly discovered Paracoccus sp. ZQW‐1 as a versatile chassis to simultaneously achieve N‐methylpyrrolidone (NMP) wastewater depuration and polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) synthesis.
