Metals in soybean oil

AbstractCertain metals often produce deleterious effects when present in soybean oil. Trace quantities of copper, iron and manganese dramatically reduce the oxidative stability of edible oils. The presence of calcium and magnesium in crude oils reduces the efficiency of degumming and refining operations.

Expression of Soybean Oil

ABSTRACT THE effects of pre-processing and expression conditions on soybean oil yield during mechanical expression were studied. In general, the trends showed that the oil yields were improved by increasing the temperature, pressure, and pressing time with a sample moisture content of 9.5 to 10%.
