Nova Totius Terrarum Orbis: Modern theory of sovereignty and the neutralization of Atlantic Disobedience

open access: yesStoricamente, 2014
The essay offers an Atlantic reading of Thomas Hobbes’ Leviathan and John Locke’s Second Treatise of Government based on the spatial concepts of “Land” and “Sea”.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Universal design in housing for people with disabilities: A review [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Design and the Built Environment, 2015
Housing standard for disabled people is a new dimension in quality of life. To the disabled people who are housebound, the house is the central focus of their existence.

Dual spaces of weighted spaces [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1970
The topological duals of a large class of weighted spaces of continuous functions are characterized as spaces of Radon measures which can be factored into a product of a weight function and a bounded Radon measure. We next obtain a representation for a base for the equicontinuous subsets of these dual spaces and for the extremal points of the members ...

Knowledge spaces and learning spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1920
How to design automated procedures which (i) accurately assess the knowledge of a student, and (ii) efficiently provide advices for further study? To produce well-founded answers, Knowledge Space Theory relies on a combinatorial viewpoint on the assessment of knowledge, and thus departs from common, numerical evaluation.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Spaces of Spaces

open access: yes, 2014
Wheeler emphasized the study of Superspace - the space of 3-geometries on a spatial manifold of fixed topology. This is a configuration space for GR; knowledge of configuration spaces is useful as regards dynamics and QM.In this Article I consider furthmore generalized configuration spaces to all levels within the conventional `equipped sets' paradigm ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Effects of Various Spatial Elements on the Intensity of Attracting People to Stay in an Open Space by the Computer Graphic Prediction Method

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, 2018
In reality, an open space comprises various spatial elements, and people choose a place for sojourn according to the attraction created by the spatial elements.

Covering spaces of paracompact spaces [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1975
This note proves that in the context of paracompact spaces, a definition used by the author implies the definition used by Saul Lubkin which does not involve the usual connectedness properties associated with covering spaces.
