TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Study on Evaluation Method of Impulse Dispersion Performance of Grounding Device Using X-ray Imagining System

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
When the lightning current enters the ground through the grounding system, the impulse dispersion performance can be observed by the phenomenon of soil spark discharge, which is fundamentally determined by the nearby soil.

Double-discharge copper-vapor laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Power supply for discharge pulses consists of two capacitors that are made to discharge synchronously with adjustable time intervals. First pulse is switched with hydrogen thyratron, and second by spark gap.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Under water discharge in bubbles in very low conductive solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This contribution presents experimental results obtained with underwater electric discharge created in rising gas bubbles. This discharge configuration is relatively new, and combines both gas and liquid phase discharges.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Influences of discharge modes and gas bubbling conditions on E. coli sterilization by pulsed underwater discharge treatments

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
Underwater discharges are considered to be promising solutions to water disinfection problems. In this paper, the sterilization effects of different discharge modes and gas bubbling conditions on E. coli are investigated.

Laboratory studies of spacecraft response to transient discharge pulses [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The in-orbit measurement of spacecraft discharge properties was investigated. The experiments include design and fabrication of appropriate sensors and effects of spacecraft electromagnetic responses on the interpretation of the discharge data.

Spark Model for Pulsar Radiation Modulation Patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
A non-stationary polar gap model first proposed by Ruderman & Sutherland (1975) is modified and applied to spark-associated pulsar emission at radio wave-lengths.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
