Primordial Synthesis of Amines and Amino Acids in a 1958 Miller H2S-Rich Spark Discharge Experiment [PDF]
Archived samples from a previously unreported 1958 Stanley Miller electric discharge experiment containing hydrogen sulfide (H2S) were recently discovered and analyzed using high-performance liquid chromatography and time-of-flight mass spectrometry.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Reproducibility of a Titanium Plasma Vacuum Spark Discharge
The results of an extensive operation of a Vacuum Spark plasma using Titanium electrodes in a 120 ns 150 kA discharge are presented. The hot spots are found to form with a regular spacing in a zippering Z-pinch plasma, which forms close to the cathode ...

Gas-discharge XeF* (B→X) laser with high specific output energy [PDF]
The discharge characteristics of the XeF* (B→X) laser are investigated. The NF3 and Xe partial pressure of the laser gas mixture and the total gas pressure have been varied.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Observations on the spark discharge [PDF]
The subject of dust-figures produced by electrical discharge has received much attention at various times. In the following notes I have refrained, to the best of my knowledge, from going over old ground. The subject has been reviewed in Lehmann’s recently published ‘Molekularphysik.’ It is a sufficient substitute for the customary

Experimental study of visual corona under aeronautic pressure conditions using low-cost imaging sensors [PDF]
Visual corona tests have been broadly applied for identifying the critical corona points of diverse high-voltage devices, although other approaches based on partial discharge or radio interference voltage measurements are also widely applied to detect ...
