Queries about the largest empty rectangle in large 2-dimensional datasets stored in secondary memory
Let be a set of points located in a rectangle and is a point that is not in . This article describes the design, implementation, and experimentation of different algorithms to solve the following two problems: (i) Maximum Empty Rectangle (MER), which ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Dynamic tile-map generation for crack-free rendering of large-scale terrain data
Three-dimensional (3D) geospatial technologies are essential in urban digitaltwins, smart cities, and metaverse. Rendering large-scale terrain data, oftenexceeding tens of terabytes, presents challenges.

An extensible index for spatial databases [PDF]
Emerging database applications require the use of new indexing structures beyond B-trees and R-trees. Examples are the k-D tree, the trie, the quadtree, and their variants. They are often proposed as supporting structures in data mining, GIS, and CAD/CAM applications.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Gridvoronoi: An Efficient Spatial Index for Nearest Neighbor Query Processing
In this paper, based upon Voronoi Diagram, we propose GridVoronoi which is a novel spatial index that enables users to find the spatial nearest neighbour (NN) from two-dimensional (2D) datasets in almost O(1) time.
