Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

LCOS-Based 3 × 3 Folded Wavelength Selective Switch With High-Resolution Spectral

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2023
We propose and experimentally verify a 3 × 3 folded wavelength selective switch (WSS) scheme based on liquid crystal on silicon spatial light modulator (LCOS-SLM). This scheme adopts a concise double-layer folded structure that greatly reduced the

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Ghost imaging object recognition based on self-attention mechanism network

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
A network model based on the self-attention mechanism is proposed to address the difficulties in extracting features from ghost imaging targets, low recognition efficiency, and potential errors.

Characterizing a spatial light modulator using ptychography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Ptychography is used to characterize the phase response of a spatial light modulator (SLM). We use the technique to measure and correct the optical curvature and the gamma curve of the device. Ptychography’s unique ability to extend field of view is then

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

High resolution multispectral spatial light modulators based on tunable Fabry-Perot nanocavities

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2022
A spatial light modulator is demonstrated based on Fabry-Perot nanocavity resonances, enabling micrometer-sized pixels and efficient full phase control at multiple wavelengths simultaneously, across the visible spectrum (including RGB colors).

White light wavefront control with a spatial light modulator

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
Spatial light modulators are ubiquitous tools for wavefront control and laser beam shaping but have traditionally been used with monochromatic sources due to the inherent wavelength dependence of the calibration process and subsequent phase manipulation.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
