PENGARUH ARAH SAYAP PELIMPAH SAMPING DAN KEDALAMAN ALIRAN TERHADAP KOEFISIEN DEBIT

open access: yesCivil Engineering Dimension, 2006
Side weir is a type of protection structure which function is to protect channels from damage caused by excessive amount of water (overtopping) so the water level in channels or rivers is to be preserved.

Dynamic Modeling of Surface Runoff and Storm Surge during Hurricane and Tropical Storm Events

open access: yesHydrology, 2018
Hurricane events combine ocean storm surge penetration with inland runoff flooding. This article presents a new methodology to determine coastal flood levels caused by the combination of storm surge and surface runoff.

Characterization of Fine-Scale Turbulence Generated in a Laboratory Orbital Shaker and Its Influence on Skeletonema costatum

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
Turbulence is one of the ubiquitous aspects of aquatic systems and affects many physical and biological processes. Based on direct velocity measurements and a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation, we characterized the distribution of the ...

Determination of drain pipe diameter using spatially varied flow theorem

open access: yes, 2012
Flow in a field drain pipe can be simulated as a spatially varied flow with increasing discharge. The drain pipe diameter can be determined by calculating the ‘maximum water depth' along the drain pipe.

Comparison and verification of turbulence Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes closures to model spatially varied flows

open access: yes, 2020
The robustness and accuracy of Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) models was investigated for complex turbulent flow in an open channel receiving lateral inflow, also known as spatially varied flow with increasing discharge (SVF).

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

More Water, More of the Time: Spatial Changes in Flooding Over 83 Years in the Upper Mississippi River Floodplain and Relationships With Streamgage‐Derived Proxies

open access: yesWater Resources Research
The hydrologic regime of the upper Mississippi River (UMR) has become wetter, with greater discharges, longer‐lasting high‐flow conditions, and seasonal shifts in these patterns over the past several decades.

Speedup and fracturing of George VI Ice Shelf, Antarctic Peninsula [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere, 2013
George VI Ice Shelf (GVIIS) is located on the Antarctic Peninsula, a region where several ice shelves have undergone rapid breakup in response to atmospheric and oceanic warming.

Forward-in-Time, Spatially Explicit Modeling Software to Simulate Genetic Lineages Under Selection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
SELECTOR is a software package for studying the evolution of multiallelic genes under balancing or positive selection while simulating complex evolutionary scenarios that integrate demographic growth and migration in a spatially explicit population ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
