The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The N Enrichment and Supernova Ejection of the Runaway Microquasar LS 5039 [PDF]
We present an investigation of new optical and ultraviolet spectra of the mass donor star in the massive X-ray binary LS 5039. The optical band spectral line strengths indicate that the atmosphere is N-rich and C-poor, and we classify the stellar ...

Line identification in high-resolution, near-infrared CRIRES spectra of chemically peculiar and Herbig Ae stars [PDF]
Context. Contrary to the late-type stars, our knowledge of atomic transitions in intermediate-mass stars is still very poor. The recent availability of ESO’s high-resolution spectrograph CRIRES offers now the opportunity to study numerous spectral ...

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

First detection of bromine and antimony in hot stars
Bromine (atomic number Z=35) and antimony (Z=51) are extremely difficult to detect in stars. In very few instances, weak and mostly uncertain identifications of Br I, Br II, and Sb II in relatively cool, chemically peculiar stars were successful. Adopted

The XMM-Newton view of Mrk3 and IXO30 [PDF]
We present the analysis of the XMM-Newton EPIC pn spectrum of the Seyfert 2 galaxy, Mrk3. We confirm that the source is dominated by a pure Compton reflection component and an iron K$\alpha$ line, both produced as reflection from a Compton-thick torus ...

AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Application of the Goertzel’s algorithm in the airgap mixed eccentricity fault detection [PDF]
In this paper, a suitable method for the on-line detection of the airgap mixed eccentricity fault in a three-phase cage induction motor has been proposed.

Identification of a New $\gamma$-ray-emitting narrow-line Seyfert 1 Galaxy, at Redshift $\sim1$
We report on the identification of a new $\gamma$-ray-emitting narrow-line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxy, SDSS J122222.55+041315.7, which increases the number of known objects of this remarkable but rare type of active galactic nuclei (AGN) to seven.
