Enhanced Infection Resistance and Regenerative Healing of Titanium Implants via Peptide‐Loaded Biodegradable Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...

Harnessing Ultrafast Optical Pulses for 3D Microfabrication by Selective Tweezing and Immobilization of Colloidal Particles in an Integrated System

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

Preparation And Evaluation Of A Recent Infectious Laryngotracheitis (Ilt) Vaccine From A Local Field Isolate

open access: yesJournal of Applied Veterinary Sciences, 2020
Infectious laryngotracheitis (ILT) is a respiratory tract disease affecting chickens worldwide. The disease leads to severe production losses due to increased mortality, decreased egg production, and delayed body weight gain, causing enormous economic ...

Variants of formal nearby cycles

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we introduce variants of formal nearby cycles for a locally noetherian formal scheme over a complete discrete valuation ring. If the formal scheme is locally algebraizable, then our nearby cycle gives a generalization of Berkovich's formal

High Humidity Exacerbates Psoriasiform Skin Disease Relapse by Increasing Tissue‐Resident Memory T Cells via Altering Skin Microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrated that high humidity worsened psoriasis relapse in murine psoriasiform skin inflammation by increasing skin‐resident memory CD8+ cells via upregulating IL‐15Rα on keratinocytes. The increases in IL‐15Rα and memory CD8+ cells were attributed to S. nepalensis and its metabolite ADMA in skin exposed to high humidity.

Chemical Impacts of the Microbiome Across Scales Reveal Novel Conjugated Bile Acids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A mosaic of cross-phyla chemical interactions occurs between all metazoans and their microbiomes. In humans, the gut harbors the heaviest microbial load, but many organs, particularly those with a mucosal surface, associate with highly adapted and ...

GSH‐Responsive Nanoparticles Enhance Hepatocellular Carcinoma Immunotherapy Through Synergistic Effects of Cuproptosis and PI3K Inhibitor Combination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cuproptosis, an emerging form of programmed cell death, is capable of inducing mitochondrial dysfunction. Moreover, the PI3K‐AKT‐mTOR signaling pathway contributes to tumor cell progression by reprogramming mitochondrial morphology and function.

PD‐1 Inhibits CD4+ TRM‐Mediated cDC1 Mobilization via Suppressing JAML in Human NSCLC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD4+ tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) in non‐small cell lung cancer recruit conventional type 1 dendritic cells via XCL1‐XCR1 signaling, orchestrating antitumor immunity. The costimulatory molecule JAML is essential for this process. PD‐1 blockade restores JAML expression and cDC1 mobilization, while JAML agonists synergize with anti‐PD‐1 therapy,
