Performance Analysis of Air-to-Water Heat Pump in Latvian Climate Conditions

open access: yesEnvironmental and Climate Technologies, 2014
Strategy of the European Union in efficient energy usage demands to have a higher proportion of renewable energy in the energy market. Since heat pumps are considered to be one of the most efficient heating and cooling systems, they will play an ...

Analysis of security extension protocol in e-mail system

open access: yes网络与信息安全学报, 2020
E-mail is the main entry point for hackers to launch network attacks. Impersonating a trusted entity is an important means of e-mail forged. An attribute graph based on the e-mail authentication mechanism was built to measure the global adoption rate of

A Bifunctional T3SS‐Effector Simultaneously Cleaves Host MAP Kinase and Inhibits PPM1A Phosphatase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pathogenic bacteria exploit the metalloprotease effector NleD to subvert host defenses. Structural, biochemical, and infection analyses reveal a bifunctional mechanism by which NleD binds and inhibits the host phosphatase PPM1A while preserving its proteolytic activity against MAPKs.

Dosimeters of power luminosity of the ultraviolet radiation "Tenzor"

open access: yesТехнологія та конструювання в електронній апаратурі, 2006
A group of dosimeters for ultraviolet and visible radiation — “Tenzor‑51”, “Tenzor‑52”, and “Tenzor‑53” — has been developed in accordance with the requirements of current regulatory documentation. The basic relative measurement error of these dosimeters

RNF213 Is an Interferon‐Stimulated Gene That Targets Influenza A Virus NP and Activates MDA5 to Restrict Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNF213 is characterized as a dual‐functional antiviral effector. It directly mediates the degradation of the influenza A virus nucleoprotein (NP) while simultaneously activating the MDA5‐mediated innate immune signaling pathway. This coordinated response establishes a powerful host defense system against viral infection. ABSTRACT Influenza A virus (IAV)

Fibrates Inhibit PLTP‐induced M2 Macrophage Infiltration and Increase the Sensitivity of Hepatocellular Carcinoma to ICIs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phospholipid transfer protein(PLTP) plays a critical role in forming a complex with kinase A (AURKA) and P65. This interaction facilitates phosphorylation of P65 at Ser536, leading to the activation of the NF‐κB signaling pathway. Ultimately, this leads to the upregulation of downstream cytokines, including IL‐6, IL‐8, and CSF‐1, which promotes M2 ...

Silicic thermally stabilized p–i–n-photodiode

open access: yesТехнологія та конструювання в електронній апаратурі, 2006
A design of a silicon p–i–n photodiode crystal thermostabilized by a Peltier thermoelectric module is proposed and investigated. It is shown that such a design allows the noise current density to remain practically unchanged within the temperature range ...

TRMT6‐Mediated m1A Modification of CDK9 mRNA Is a Dual‐Pronged Pathogenic Driver for HBV‐Related Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TRMT6‐mediated m1A modification in CDK9 mRNA enhances its mRNA stability and translation efficiency, thereby increasing the protein levels of CDK9. Upregulated CDK9 promotes the progression of HCC by elevating the levels of oncogenic factors including p‐STAT3, MCL1, and BCL‐2. On the other hand, CDK9 phosphorylates TARDBP at Ser254 to activate HBV core

Comparative Physicochemical Properties and Photoprotective Efficacy of Homemade and Commercial Herbal Sunscreens

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun can cause significant damage to human skin, leading to both acute and chronic adverse effects. While commercial sunscreens provide protection, increasing consumer concerns about synthetic ingredients have driven ...

Evaluation of superplastic forming and co-diffusion bonding of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy expanded sandwich structures [PDF]

open access: yes
The application of the superplastic forming/diffusion bonding (SPF/DB) process to supersonic cruise research is investigated. The capability of an SPF/DB titanium structure to meet the structural requirements of the inner wing area of the NASA arrow-wing
