Response of raspberries to treatments with Spirulina sp., Dunaliella sp. and Chlorella sp. extractions

Research Journal of Biotechnology
The experiments were done at two farms in Latvia. Primocane raspberries were weekly sprayed with solutions of ethanol extractions of microalgae species of Spirulina sp., Dunaliella sp. and Chlorella sp. in different concentrations from stages of shoot growth to fruit ripening.

Co-production of carbonic anhydrase and phycobiliproteins by Spirulina sp. and Synechococcus nidulans

Bioresource Technology, 2016
The aim of this work was to study the co-production of the carbonic anhydrase, C-phycocyanin and allophycocyanin during cyanobacteria growth. Spirulina sp. LEB 18 demonstrated a high potential for simultaneously obtaining the three products, achieving a carbonic anhydrase (CA) productivity of 0.97U/L/d and the highest C-phycocyanin (PC, 5.9μg/mL/d) and

Separation and purification of phycocyanin from Spirulina sp. using a membrane process

Bioresource Technology, 2011
The highest purity ratio of phycocyanin extract was obtained when fresh biomass was used as raw material. The crude extract was purified by membrane process using microfiltration and ultrafiltration. Membrane of pore sizes 5 μm, at feed flow rate of 150 mL min(-1), permeate flux of 58.5 L h(-1)m(-2) was selected for coarse filtration and membrane with ...

Kinetic analysis of the growth of Spirulina sp. in batch culture

Journal of Fermentation Technology, 1987
Abstract Batch cultivation of Spirulina sp. was carried out under limited light at 30°C in the pH range of 9.2 to 9.7. The specific growth rate D was calculated from the tangent of the growth curve and the cell concentration at that time, and the amount of light energy absorbed per unit time per unit cell weight ( E x ), namely, the specific ...
