Dynamic RBC‐To‐Membrane Ratio in 129Xe MRI: A Biomarker of Decreased Lung Function in Pulmonary and Vascular Diseases

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To present a method for quantifying dissolved 129Xe spectroscopy using singular value decomposition (SVD) and a dynamic red blood cell (RBC)/membrane ratio as a biomarker of disease. Methods A spectroscopic sequence was performed in 45 subjects (27 healthy, 12 dyspnea of unknown origin [DUO], and 6 pulmonary hypertension [PH ...

10.5 T In Vivo Head Imaging With Universal RF Shimming

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Brain MR imaging at 10.5 T ultra‐high field offers significant improvements in signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR), but faces challenges with B1+ inhomogeneity. Parallel‐transmission (pTx) can be used to achieve a more uniform RF field distribution, but necessitates the use of B1+ calibration in the region of interest.

Relaxivity of Gadobutrol and Gadoteric Acid in Cerebrospinal Fluid at 3T

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose The aim was to estimate T1 relaxivity of gadobutrol and gadoteric acid in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) at 3T, to support research on CSF‐flow and the glymphatic system in humans utilizing T1 mapping after intrathecal injection. Methods Using a phantom, relaxivity was estimated for gadobutrol and gadoteric acid in lumbar CSF and an ...

Respiratory Motion‐Corrected Model‐Based 3D Water‐Fat MRA of the Thorax at 0.55 T

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose The goal of this study was to develop a 5‐min 3D MRA acquisition at 0.55 T with predictable scan time, 100% data efficiency, and robust water‐fat separation. Methods For full data efficiency, the proposed method combined self‐gating with retrospective motion correction while ensuring a predictable 5‐min scan time.
