Recovery and enrichment of squalene from palm fatty acid distillate using a pilot-scale multistage separation process

open access: yesFood Chemistry Advances
Palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD), a by-product of palm oil refining, contains valuable bioactive components. Upon extraction of vitamin E from the PFAD, the remaining liquid residue contained approximately 20,000 ppm squalene.

RNA‐Binding Proteins and Ferroptosis in Cancer: Mechanism and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Ferroptosis critically influences cancer cell fate and represents a promising therapeutic strategy. Emerging evidence identifies RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) as key post‐transcriptional regulators of ferroptosis. The figure summarizes ferroptosis‐related RBPs across cancers: blue RBPs act as tumor suppressors by promoting ferroptosis, whereas red RBPs ...

Molecular mechanisms associated with rootstock–scion interactions in rubber trees

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 19, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Hevea brasiliensis (rubber tree) is the main source of natural rubber worldwide. In commercial plantations, high‐yield rubber tree clones are propagated by grafting onto seedling rootstocks. In this study, the transcriptomes of the RRIM 600 clone grafted on different rootstocks in southeastern Brazil were evaluated. Exclusively expressed genes

Integrative transcriptomic and metabolomic reveals squalene alleviating the inflammatory response and enhancing immunity of hybrid grouper (♀ Epinephelus fuscoguttatus × ♂ E. lanceolatu)

open access: yesAquaculture Reports
Our previous study on plant oil substitution for fish oil found that corn oil induced inflammatory responses in grouper, while olive oil was effective in anti-inflammatory and immune enhancing. As a vital active ingredient in olive oil, squalene has been
