Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

3-Chloro-4-(5-methoxy-1H-indol-3-yl)cyclobut-3-ene-1,2-dione
The indole ring system is a prominent partial structure of several protein kinase inhibitor families. The title compound is the first example of a 5-substituted indolyl squaryl chloride with free indole nitrogen.

Sodium hydroxide pretreatment as an effective approach to reduce the dye/holes recombination reaction in P-Type DSCs [PDF]
We report the synthesis of a novel squaraine dye (VG21-C12) and investigate its behavior as p-type sensitizer for p-type Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Case report: Dupilumab therapy for alopecia areata in a 4-year-old patient resistant to baricitinib
Alopecia areata (AA) is a non-scarring hair loss disorder. Alopecia totalis (AT) and alopecia universalis (AU) are the severe subtypes of AA. Age of onset before 6 years of age, disease duration of more than 1 year, and extensive alopecia involving more ...

Investigation of squaric acid derivates
Abstract The aims of the present work are to prove the possibility of employing IR spectra to investigate the compounds obtained by interaction of Squaric acid (H2Sq) and phenyl- or alkyl glycidyl ethers (PhGE or AlkGE), to establish the most suitable absorbances for quantitative analyses and to evaluate the formation of H-bonds. Indication of H-bond
