Oral Health Interventions for People Living With Diabetes From a Public Health Perspective: A Mapping Review

open access: yesCommunity Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Despite growing concerns about the oral health‐diabetes link, there is a lack of dental health interventions focused on people with diabetes. This mapping review synthesised the current landscape of oral health interventions for people with diabetes and identified future opportunities.

Environmental Impact of Silicic Magmatism in Large Igneous Province Events

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 133-151., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Biogenesis of TNF‐α‐insights into proteostasis and inflammation

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
TNF‐α biogenesis, trafficking, and signalling are tightly and reciprocally coupled to cellular proteostasis systems, including ER chaperones and endoplasmic reticulum‐associated degradation. This bidirectional crosstalk determines whether TNF‐α responses are adaptive or proteotoxic.

Myristoylation versus SRP

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 2005
The machineries for myristoylation and cotranslational translocation fight over a substrate, as shown by Colombo et al. on [page 735][1]. The competition results in dual locales for the protein caught in the middle, called b5R.

Efficacy of Dental Varnishes and Gels for the Prevention and Management of Dental Caries in Older Adults—A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesGerodontology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction To evaluate the efficacy of dental varnishes/gels in the prevention/management of dental caries in older adults. Methods Cochrane, PubMed, Web of Science and EMBASE were searched through March 2024 for randomized controlled trials (RCT) including patients aged ≥ 60 years (or average age ≥ 60 years) utilizing varnish or gel ...

Performance Control, Reflection, and Attainment in Instructed Language Learning: A Longitudinal Study of Self‐Regulation in L2 English and L2 German Courses

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Linguistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Self‐regulation (SR) plays a central role in instructed language learning, as it enables learners to set goals, monitor progress, and adapt learning behaviour through reflection. We investigate the contribution of two core self‐regulatory processes—performance control (PC) and reflection (R)—to attainment (A) in structure‐focused L2 English ...

The Imbalance Between Tumor Immunosurveillance and Tumor Immune Escape in Glioblastoma

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, EarlyView.
(Left)The identification and elimination of tumour cells is enabled by the infiltration of functional innate and adaptive immune effectors into the TME, such as natural killer cells (NK cells) and cytotoxic T cells (CD8 T cells). Effective innate and adaptive immune responses facilitate immunological control of malignant outgrowth.

Annual Research Review: What processes are dysregulated among emotionally dysregulated youth? – a systematic review

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 66, Issue 4, Page 516-546, April 2025.
Proliferation of the term “emotion dysregulation” in child psychopathology parallels the growing interest in processes that influence negative emotional reactivity. While it commonly refers to a clinical phenotype where intense anger leads to behavioral dyscontrol, the term implies etiology because anything that is dysregulated requires an impaired ...
