Studies on genetic divergence of rapeseed genotypes using SSR markers

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Botany, 2019
Thirty five Brassica napus genotypes were evaluated to check their genetic diversity on the basis of mapped 20 microsatellite markers. The genetic similarity values of coefficient ranged from 0.28 to 0.85. A dendrogram was generated based on UPGMA which showed that genotypes were divided into five major clusters.

Molecular characterization of ginger genotypes using RAPD and SSR markers

open access: yesJournal of Horticultural Sciences, 2022
Genetic diversity among ginger genotypes collected from different parts of the country was studied using molecular markers (30 RAPD and 55 SSR). Compared to RAPD primers SSR primers were efficient in distinguishing the genotypes. A total of 86 and 23 polymorphic bands were observed with RAPD and SSR primers, respectively.

Direct tests of haplodiploid inheritance in Thrips tabaci (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) using parent-offspring SSR-GBS

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology
Haplodiploidy is a sex determination system in which males are haploid and females are diploid. In the typical haplodiploid system, females inherit half of their genome from each parent, whereas males inherit a haploid genome exclusively from their ...

Validating effect of QTLs and identifying breeder friendly markers for manipulating grain length in local rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2018
Rice varieties possessing short slender grains with aroma is highly preferred by the farmers. Most of the non-basmati rice varieties are traditional genotypes possessing poor yield and undesirable characteristics like lodging, susceptibility against ...

Identification of Parental Genome Construction and Inherited Morphological Characteristics in Triploid and AneuploidIntergeneric Hybrids from a Diploid−Diploid Cross between Citrus and Fortunella

open access: yesAgronomy, 2021
We previously obtained two intergeneric hybrids with different ploidies, i.e., aneuploid (2n = 28) and eutriploid, from diploid−diploid crosses between ‘Kiyomi’ tangor (Citrus unshiu Marcow. × C.

Comparative genome-wide characterization leading to simple sequence repeat marker development for Nicotiana

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2018
Background Simple sequence repeats (SSRs) are tandem repeats of DNA that have been used to develop robust genetic markers. These molecular markers are powerful tools for basic and applied studies such as molecular breeding.

Early Spatial and Contextual Coding Deficits in Hippocampal CA1 Precede Performance Decline in an Alzheimer's Disease Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two‐photon calcium imaging in behaving 5xFAD mice reveals early CA1 coding deficits before behavioral decline. Task‐related place cell activity and splitter cell trajectory coding are impaired, with reduced retrospective dominance and greater prospective weighting.
