Practice, knowledge and attitude of physicians and pharmacists towards the spontaneous reporting system of adverse drug reactions in Switzerland

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Introduction Introduction Reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs) is essential for detecting drug risks. Despite legal obligations in Switzerland, underreporting remains an issue. This study assessed practice, knowledge and attitudes towards the spontaneous ADR reporting system among physicians and pharmacists.

The prevalence of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales and the emergence of novel ST11-KL30 carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae in Xinjiang, China

open access: yesJournal of Global Antimicrobial Resistance
Objectives: To address the lack of research on the prevalence of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CREs) in Xinjiang, China, and elucidate the genomic characteristics of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) ST11-KL30. Methods: CREs were

Genomic Insights Into Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Acquired Azithromycin Resistance Genes in Salmonella Strains Worldwide

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Azithromycin has been used for clinical invasive infections caused by fluoroquinolone‐ and third‐generation cephalosporin‐resistant Salmonella, and mass drug administration with azithromycin has been used to reduce under‐5 mortality in children in some countries.

Designing a conjugate vaccine targeting Klebsiella pneumoniae ST258 and ST11

open access: yesHeliyon
Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) is a common bacterium that can cause iatrogenic infection. Recently, the rise of antibiotic resistance among K. pneumoniae strains is one key factor associated with antibiotic treatment failure. Hencefore, there is an urgent need for effective K. pneumoniae vaccines.

Tracking a hospital outbreak of KPC-producing ST11 Klebsiella pneumoniae with whole genome sequencing [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Microbiology and Infection, 2015
An outbreak of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae strains emerged at a hospital, and was tracked in order to understand the spread of these infectious pathogens. A total of 66 K. pneumoniae strains were collected from sterile samples in 2012. The MICs of 20 antimicrobial agents were determined for all strains.

Genomic Insights Into Carbapenem‐Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae in Pediatric Bloodstream Infections in Zhejiang, China (2019–2024)

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
The primary mechanism of carbapenem resistance identified in pediatric CRKP‐BSI strains was the production of Class B metalloenzymes. We report, for the first time, an outbreak of bloodstream infections in a neonatal ward caused by the dissemination of NDM‐1‐producing ST25 K. pneumoniae.

Outbreak of OXA-48 carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae in Greece involving an ST11 clone [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, 2012
First detected in Enterobacteriaceae isolates in Turkey, the OXA-48 carbapenemase has gradually disseminated in the wider Mediterranean area and Europe. Despite reports from other European regions, until now no such isolates have been detected in Greece.

ESO 243-49 HLX-1: scaling of X-ray spectral properties and black hole mass determination

open access: yes, 2016
We report the results of Swift/XRT observations (2008-2015) of a hyper-luminous X-ray source, ESO 243-49 HLX-1. We found a strong observational evidence that ESO 243-49 HLX-1 underwent spectral transitions from the low/hard state to the high/soft state ...
