The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

A Static Stability Analysis Method for Passively Stabilized Sounding Rockets

open access: yesAerospace
Sounding rockets constitute a class of rocket with a generally simple layout, being composed of a cylindrical center-body, a nosecone, a number of fins placed symmetrically around the longitudinal axis (usually three or four), and possibly a boat-tail ...

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Analytic solution of simplified Cardan's shaft model

open access: yesApplied and Computational Mechanics, 2014
Torsional oscillations and stability assessment of the homokinetic Cardan shaft with a small misalignment angle is described in this paper. The simplified mathematical model of this system leads to the linearized equation of the Mathieu's type.

Assessment of the Influence of Formation Conditions of Embankments and Spoil Heaps on Their Stability When Dumped on Clay-Salt Slurries

open access: yesEng
The formation of geotechnical structures on foundations composed of low-strength soils is associated with a number of risks and difficulties. Soils such as clay-salt slurries are characterized by low bearing capacity and a tendency to deform under load ...

Tunisia: Financial System Stability Assessment

open access: yesIMF Staff Country Reports, 2012
The Central Bank of Tunisia's (CBT) liquidity support contributed to rapid credit growth in Tunisia and an uptick in inflation. The Tunisian economy is expected to recover gradually. Banking sector vulnerabilities are much higher, and stress tests indicate that the banking sector may face large recapitalization needs. Improving financial intermediation

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Germany: Financial Sector Stability Assessment

open access: yesIMF Staff Country Reports, 2011
In this study, the stability of Germany’s financial sector after the global crisis is discussed. The stability issues are explained in terms of financial system vulnerability and the banking system. Financial soundness indicators (FSIs) prove the stability of the banking system. A stress test was conducted with the Bundesbank. The insurance sector also

Canada: Financial Sector Stability Assessment [PDF]

open access: yesIMF Staff Country Reports, 2014
This report discusses key findings of the Financial Sector Stability Assessment on Canada. Canada’s financial system successfully navigated the global financial crisis, and stress tests suggest that major financial institutions would continue to be resilient to credit, liquidity, and contagion risks arising from a severe stress scenario.
