The influence of rivers on seabird foraging ecology
ABSTRACT Rivers act as vital arteries to the world's oceans, delivering fresh water and nutrients that sustain marine ecosystems. Globally, river flow increasingly is being altered by climate change and anthropogenic pressures; yet the significance of rivers to predatory marine species, such as seabirds, and the extent to which river‐related changes ...

Classifying avian drinking behaviour: ecological insights and implications in a changing world
ABSTRACT Water is a fundamental currency of life, and its availability significantly influences animal behaviour, physiology and distributions. However, our knowledge around the dependence on water for drinking and the direct and indirect mechanisms driving related behaviours remains partial in the context of changing climates. Here, we review patterns

Covalent Attachment of a Platinum(II) Complex inside DNA Duplexes
Oxidative addition is used for the site‐specific incorporation of an organometallic PtII complex as an artificial nucleobase into a DNA duplex. The platination stabilizes the duplex and confers it with phosphorescence. An organometallic phosphorescent PtII complex is introduced into DNA duplexes via oxidative addition to a tailor‐made artificial ...

Regulating Defect‐Coordinated Single‐Iron‐Atom Catalysts for Efficient Nitrate Reduction Reactions
This figure illustrates the ball‐and‐stick model of an asymmetric monatomic Fe─N2 catalyst and its catalytic process for converting nitrate to ammonia. Shown are the adsorption configurations of precursors and intermediates (NO3− → NO2− → NO → NH2OH → NH3) on the catalyst surface, where brown represents iron atoms, red represents oxygen atoms, dark ...

Asymmetric‐Coordinated Indium Single Atoms for Highly Selective Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction
This work develops an indium single‐atom photocatalyst (In‐NTO) featuring unique Inδ⁺–N3O2 coordination sites for highly selective CO2 photoreduction. The specific atomic interface steers the reaction pathway exclusively toward CO (95.9% selectivity) by lowering the overall energy barrier and converting the critical *CO protonation step from ...
