Satellite Power System (SPS). State and local regulations as applied to satellite power system microwave receiving antenna facilities [PDF]

open access: yes
State and local regulation of power plant construction and operation of solar power satellite (SPS) receiving stations is presented. Each receiving antenna station occupies a land area 100-200 km square, receives microwave transmissions from the solar ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Effects of Phenanthrene Soil Pollution on Cadmium Bioaccumulation and Metabolic Responses in Maize (Zea mays L.)

open access: yesAgriculture
Co-contamination of cadmium (Cd) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in agricultural soils poses a critical threat to crops and food safety, but how PAHs affect Cd uptake and plant metabolism is still unclear.

Can Policy Interact with Culture? Minimum Wage and the Quality of Labor Relations [PDF]

open access: yes
Can public policy interfere with culture, such as beliefs and norms of cooperation? We investigate his question by evaluating the interactions between the State and the Civil Society, focusing on the labor market.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A NATIONWIDE, STATE-LEVEL, ANALYSIS OF ANIMAL CONFINEMENT POLICY BY SELECTED SPECIES [PDF]

open access: yes
We have addressed the impact of state environmental regulation on the livestock industry by selected two species. Beef cattle, as a leading livestock of the U.S, has experienced relatively steady structural transformation, on the other hand, hog industry

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Cryo-ET comparison of the hierarchical ultrastructure of silkworm, spider, and artificial silk fibers

open access: yesNature Communications
Spider and silkworm silks are renowned for their exceptional mechanical properties, which arises from their ultrastructural organization. However, this architecture remains incompletely understood.
