Analyzing the Risk of Divorce among Divorced Women with Children Using Time-Dependent Cox Model [PDF]
Aim and Background: Divorce is one of the harms that has various personal, psychological and social dimensions and severely affects children. Therefore, studies in this field are always of interest to researchers and policymakers in the field of family ...

Statistical modeling and design in forestry : The case of single tree models [PDF]
Forest quantification methods have evolved from a simple graphical approach to complex regression models with stochastic structural components. Currently, mixed effects models methodology is receiving attention in the forestry literature.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Statistical Inference in Calibrated Models [PDF]
SUMMARY This paper describes a Monte Carlo procedure to assess the performance of calibrated dynamic general equilibrium models. The procedure formalizes the choice of parameters and the evaluation of the model and provides an efficient way to conduct a sensitivity analysis for perturbations of the parameters within a reasonable range.

Prediction Of Normal Glenoid Morphology With Statistical Shape Modeling [PDF]
Introduction Patients suffering from glenohumeral osteoarthritis may present an important wear of the glenoid articular surface leading to a new glenoid shape (Neoglenoid).

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Statistical Models and Invariance
Brillinger [2] gives necessary and sufficient conditions for a model to be invariant under a Lie group of transformations. The problems that can be handled by his conditions are surveyed, and found effectively to be restricted to one-dimensional problems amendable to Lindley's [8] method and to problems connected with conflicts between Bayes' and ...

For the hierarchical normal and normal-inverse-gamma model, we derive the Bayesian estimator of the variance parameter in the normal distribution under Stein’s loss function—a penalty function that treats gross overestimation and underestimation equally ...

Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) causes chickenpox and reactivation of latent VZV causes herpes zoster (HZ). VZV reactivation is subject to the opposing mechanisms of declining and boosted VZV-specific cellular mediated immunity (CMI).

Statistical methods for modeling floods in South Australia [PDF]
The statistical methods which are helpful in organizing and presenting the random variables are widely used in regional flood modeling. This paper presents the selected statistical methods that are used in regional flood frequency analysis and developing
