Tailoring Vascular‐Immune Homeostasis via Manganese‐DNA Complex‐Armed Immunogenic Extracellular Vesicles for Pancreatic Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that Mn2⁺–tumor DNA complexes encapsulated in dendritic cell (DC)– derived immunogenic extracellular vesicles (EVDC@Mn‐DNA) act as a DC‐specific cGAS– STING activator. EVDC@Mn‐DNA treatment enhances intratumoral DC activation, improves tumor vascular function, promotes CD8⁺ T cell activity, and suppresses pancreatic tumor growth,

Investigations on Diamond-NV-Centers as Alternative Labels in STED Microscopy [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We investigate diamond nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers as alternative labels in stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy. To this end, artificial diamond is used as a substrate and Raman spectroscopy in photoluminescence (PL) mode is performed for ...

Evaluation of sted super-resolution image quality by image correlation spectroscopy (QuICS)

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Quantifying the imaging performances in an unbiased way is of outmost importance in super-resolution microscopy. Here, we describe an algorithm based on image correlation spectroscopy (ICS) that can be used to assess the quality of super-resolution ...

Parallelized STED fluorescence nanoscopy

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
We introduce a parallelized STED microscope featuring m = 4 pairs of scanning excitation and STED beams, providing m-fold increased imaging speed of a given sample area, while maintaining basically all of the advantages of single beam scanning. Requiring only a single laser source and fiber input, the setup is inherently aligned both spatially and ...

QBP1 Peptide as a Potential Anti‐Amyloidogenic Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The anti‐amyloidogenic peptide QBP1 effectively halts human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) aggregation, preventing the formation of toxic β‐structured intermediates. Through a combination of biophysical assays, molecular dynamics, and cell‐based studies, QBP1 is shown to preserve β‐cell viability and metabolic homeostasis, positioning it as a ...

Temporal and Cell‐Specific Regulation of Synaptic Homeostasis by the Chromatin Remodeler Chd1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chd1, the Drosophila homologue of mammalian CHD2 ‐ a gene linked to autism, epilepsy, and intellectual disability, is required for synaptic homeostatic plasticity. Chd1 in glia is necessary for the rapid induction of synaptic homeostasis, whereas Chd1 in motoneurons, muscle, and glia is critical for long‐term maintenance.

Effect of light polariztion on pattern illumination super-resolution imaging [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences, 2016
Far-field fluorescence microscopy has made great progress in the spatial resolution, limited by light diffraction, since the super-resolution imaging technology appeared.

Challenges of intracellular visualization using virtual and augmented reality

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioinformatics, 2022
Microscopy image observation is commonly performed on 2D screens, which limits human capacities to grasp volumetric, complex, and discrete biological dynamics. With the massive production of multidimensional images (3D + time, multi-channels) and derived

Fiber-integrated frequency-doubling of a picosecond Raman laser to 560 nm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We report the development of a fiber-integrated picosecond source at 560 nm by second harmonic generation of a Raman fiber laser. A picosecond ytterbium master oscillator power fiber amplifier is used to pulse-pump a Raman amplifier, which is seeded by a
