Modeling the TESS Light Curve of Ap Si Star MX TrA

open access: yesUniverse
The TESS light curve of the silicon Ap star MX TrA was modeled using the observational surface distribution of silicon, iron, helium, and chromium obtained previously with the Doppler Imaging technique.

Using a model for telluric absorption in full-spectrum fits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The typical approach for removing telluric absorption lines from a science spectrum is to divide it by the spectrum of a standard star of spectral type A or B observed close in time and airmass.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Center-to-limb polarization in continuum spectra of F, G, K stars

open access: yes, 2015
Context. Scattering and absorption processes in stellar atmosphere affect the center-to-limb variations of the intensity (CLVI) and the linear polarization (CLVP) of stellar radiation. Aims. There are several theoretical and observational studies of CLVI

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Bisectors of the HARPS Cross-Correlation-Function. The dependence on stellar atmospheric parameters

open access: yes, 2011
Bisectors of the HARPS cross-correlation function (CCF) can discern between planetary radial-velocity (RV) signals and spurious RV signals from stellar magnetic activity variations.

Hot Exoplanet Atmospheres Resolved with Transit Spectroscopy (HEARTS) I. Detection of hot neutral sodium at high altitudes on WASP-49b [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
High-resolution optical spectroscopy during the transit of HD 189733b, a prototypical hot Jupiter, allowed the resolution of the Na I D sodium lines in the planet, giving access to the extreme conditions of the planet upper atmosphere. We have undertaken

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Correlating Intrinsic Stellar Parameters with Mg ii Self-reversal Depths

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The Mg ii h&k emission lines (2803, 2796 Å) are a useful tool for understanding stellar chromospheres and transition regions due to their intrinsic brightness, relatively low interstellar medium (ISM) absorption interference, and abundance
