Making teaching an attractive profession: What are the challenges and opportunities for minority ethnic teachers in England?

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper explores the challenges and opportunities surrounding the recruitment and retention of minority ethnic teachers in England. Drawing on interview data from 33 teachers and school leaders of diverse ethnic backgrounds, it investigates whether racialised barriers identified in earlier research have shifted in the current context of ...

The Solar-like Latitudinal Distribution of Flaring Activities Revealed by TESS, APOGEE, and GALAH

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Flare flux reflects the contribution from active regions rather than the contribution from the entire hemisphere of a star. Unlike the amplitude of light curves caused by starspots, flare detection is independent of inclination.

Does Sustainability Auditing Lead to Enhanced Corporate Governance, Environmental Performance, and Financial Outcomes? Empirical Evidence From High‐Impact Industries

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study employs hierarchical regression modelling on a survey of 550 firms from Nigeria and Ghana to examine the impact of sustainability auditing on corporate governance, environmental performance, and financial outcomes of high‐impact industries.

Beyond the Reports: Cultural Pressures, Unheard Voices and the Climate Accountability Gap in Oil and Gas Sector Governance

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental governance in Nigeria's oil and gas sector remains central to global climate justice debates, yet persistent accountability failures continue to undermine meaningful environmental and social outcomes. Despite extensive regulatory frameworks, accountability in resource‐dependent contexts is frequently reduced to formal reporting ...

Excessive Ostial Stent Protrusion: Evaluation of Management Strategies and Clinical Outcomes of the Side Flap Technique

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Accurate stent positioning in aorto‐ostial lesions remains challenging due to complex three‐dimensional anatomy, lack of optimal fluoroscopic projections, and high rates of geographic miss. Stent overhang impairs guide catheter re‐engagement and complicates future revascularization.

Molecular Hydrogen Controls the Temperatures of Flares on TRAPPIST-1

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Early JWST observations of TRAPPIST-1 have revealed an unexpected puzzle: energetic white-light flares ( E  > 10 ^30 erg) reach temperatures of only ∼3500–4000 K, nearly 3 times cooler than typical solar flares, which peak around 9000–10,000 K.

Transcatheter Repair of Sinus Venosus Defect Using a 12‐zig Covered Cheatham‐Platinum Stent in Large Superior Vena Cava—Right Atrium Junctions: Early Multicenter Experience

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sinus venosus defect (SVD) is a rare congenital heart anomaly characterised by an abnormal communication between the atria, often associated with partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC). Traditional surgical repair carries significant risks, prompting exploration into less invasive transcatheter approaches.

Cool Stars and Space Weather

open access: yes, 2014
Stellar flares, winds and coronal mass ejections form the space weather. They are signatures of the magnetic activity of cool stars and, since activity varies with age, mass and rotation, the space weather that extra-solar planets experience can be very ...

Waste activated sludge high‐rate treatment of septage: Biodegradability studies and contact phase trials towards a cleaner environment

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The waste activated sludge high‐rate (WASHR) process, developed in our previous study, is used for septic wastewater treatment. This high‐rate contact stabilization pre‐treatment uses typical waste streams found in wastewater treatment plants to reduce a portion of the loadings on the main treatment trains.

Probing Starspot Dynamics on the Active M Dwarf TIC 272272592: A Multiyear TESS Study

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present an analysis of temporal starspot evolution and its distribution on an active rapid rotator ( P _rot = 1.22 days), TIC 272272592, using high-precision time-series photometry from the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite spanning over 3 yr. The
