Context. Cosmic voids, vast, underdense regions of the Universe, serve as unique laboratories for studying galaxy evolution in isolation. Within these voids, galaxy triplets, rare systems of three close galaxies, provide crucial insights into how local ...

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

oMEGACat. IV. Constraining the Ages of Omega Centauri Subgiant Branch Stars with HST and MUSE
We present age estimates for over 8100 subgiant branch (SGB) stars in Omega Centauri ( ω Cen) to study its star formation history. Our large data set, which combines multi-wavelength Hubble Space Telescope photometry with MUSE metallicities, provides an ...

The stellar to sub-stellar masses transition in 47 Tuc
Context. The study of the globular cluster 47 Tuc offers an opportunity to shed new light on the debated issue of the presence of multiple populations in globular clusters, as recent results from HST photometry and high-resolution spectroscopy outlined ...

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

On the Origin of Neutron-capture Elements in r-I and r-II Stars: A Differential-abundance Analysis
We present a strictly line-by-line differential analysis of a moderately r -process-enhanced star ( r -I: HD 107752) with respect to a strongly r -process-enhanced star ( r -II: CS 31082-0001) to investigate the possible common origin of their heavy ...

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Studying Stellar Systems with Classical Pulsators [PDF]
Classical Cepheids and RR Lyrae are very important primary distance indicators and stellar population tracers, thanks to the relations between pulsation properties and intrinsic stellar parameters. Through the theoretical prediction of these relations as

Hidden Figures of Globular Clusters: Integrated Stellar Populations Impacted by Hot Subdwarfs
Globular clusters (GCs) are fundamental for understanding the integrated light of old stellar populations and galaxy assembly processes. However, the role of hot, evolved stars, such as horizontal branch (HB), extreme HB, and blue stragglers, remains ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...
