Darier disease—A review highlighting new insights from the Darier Disease International Task Force

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
This review provides a global, clinically focused overview of DD, detailing cutaneous and extracutaneous manifestations, disease classification and severity scoring. It emphasizes early recognition, multidisciplinary management and practical guidance for dermatologists to apply evidence‐based care in diverse skin phototypes. Abstract Darier disease (DD)

Experimentally testing the function of anal fins in the bluefin killifish, Lucania goodei

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Anal fins are thought to affect many functions, including swimming, sperm flow and signalling. However, there are few experimental demonstrations of these functions. We manipulated male anal fins by placing a cut in the fin. We found that cut males had lower fertilization rates than uncut males.

X-ray emission from young brown dwarfs in the Orion Nebula Cluster [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We use the sensitive X-ray data from the Chandra Orion Ultradeep Project (COUP) to study the X-ray properties of 34 spectroscopically-identified brown dwarfs with near-infrared spectral types between M6 and M9 in the core of the Orion Nebula Cluster ...

Behavior of X-Ray Dust Scattering and Implications for X-Ray Afterglows of Gamma-Ray Bursts

open access: yes, 2007
The afterglows of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have commonly been assumed to be due to shocks sweeping up the circum-stellar medium. However, most GRBs have been found in dense star-forming regions where a significant fraction of the prompt X-ray emission can

Supportive periodontal care during active orthodontic therapy in patients with history of stage IV periodontitis: A narrative review

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract The present narrative review aims to summarize the existing literature on recommendations for supportive periodontal care (SPC) in patients undergoing combined periodontal–orthodontic treatment. It outlines a comprehensive step‐4 treatment sequence in patients diagnosed with stage IV periodontitis and concurrent orthodontic problems.

Orthodontic treatment in periodontitis patients

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper examines the complex interplay between orthodontic intervention and periodontal conditions in individuals with periodontitis. It outlines diagnostic and treatment approaches for adolescents and adults, considering their distinct periodontal, dental, and behavioral needs.

Potential Chromospheric Evaporation in the M Dwarf’s Flare Triggered by Einstein Probe Mission

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Although flares from late-type main-sequence stars have been frequently detected in the multiwavelength, the associated dynamical process has been rarely reported so far.

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Similar phenomena at different scales: Black Holes, the Sun, Gamma-ray Bursts, Supernovae, Galaxies and Galaxy Clusters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Many similar phenomena occur in astrophysical systems with spatial and mass scales different by many orders of magnitudes. For examples, collimated outflows are produced from the Sun, proto-stellar systems, gamma-ray bursts, neutron star and black hole X-
