Omnidirectional Vision with Frontal Stereo
This study describes a novel imaging system that can be used as a front end for a vision system for guidance of unmanned aerial vehicles. A single camera and a combination of three specially designed reflecting surfaces axe used to provide (a) complete onmidirectional vision with no frontal blind zone and (b) stereo range within a frontal field ...

Vision-based analysis of pedestrian traffic data [PDF]
Reducing traffic congestion has become a major issue within urban environments. Traditional approaches, such as increasing road sizes, may prove impossible in certain scenarios, such as city centres, or ineffectual if current predictions of large growth ...

Omnidirectional Stereo Vision Study from Vertical and Horizontal Stereo Configuration
In stereo vision, an omnidirectional camera has high distortion compared to a standard camera, so the camera calibration is very decisive in its stereo matching.

Bimodal Active Stereo Vision [PDF]
We present a biologically inspired active vision system that incorporates two modes of perception. A peripheral mode provides a broad and coarse perception of where mass is in the scene in the vicinity of the current fixation point, and how that mass is moving. It involves fusion of actively acquired depth data into a 3D occupancy grid.

Active Animate Stereo Vision [PDF]
Abstract This paper describes recent research concerning the Active Stereo Probe (ASP)stereo vision system that combines animate oculo-motor reflexes with a novelactive illumination source. Two methods for accurate surface recovery from stereoat rates approaching real time are described.
